Hunter will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hunter-biden-reaches-plea-deal-over-tax-crimes-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plead guilty<\/a> to failing to pay about $100,000 in taxes for 2017 and for failing to pay a similar amount for 2018. The tax charges Hunter faces are misdemeanors.<\/p>\n<p>He is expected to not face any jail time and to be given two years of probation.<\/p>\n<p>Since the deal was made public, IRS whistleblowers came forward and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/mccarthy-threatens-ag-garland-with-impeachment-if-whistleblower-allegations-are-true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">alleged<\/a> that Attorney General Merrick Garland interfered with the investigation and that the IRS agents were retaliated against.<\/p>\n<p>In the letter to Jordan, Weiss said that he could not address specifics at this time about the whistleblowers\u2019 allegations that pertain to the \u201ccriminal investigation that is now being prosecuted in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While he said he could not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/prosecutor-in-hunter-biden-criminal-case-releases-letter-on-two-issues\/\" title=\"Prosecutor in Hunter Biden case addresses 'two matters' in released letter.\">divulge information related<\/a> to the investigation at this time, he did say that he wanted to \u201cprovide some general insight on two issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, the Department of Justice did not retaliate against \u2018an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Supervisory Special Agent and whistleblower, as well as his entire investigative team\u2026 for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/house-report-reveals-what-fbi-did-to-employees-who-spoke-out-against-politicized-rot\/\" title=\"FBI punished employees who spoke out against 'politicized rot': House report.\">making protected disclosures<\/a> to Congress,&#8217;\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecond, in my June 7 letter I stated, \u2018I have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-whistleblower-emails-suggest-david-weiss-misled-congress-in-letter-claiming-charging-authority\/\" title=\"IRS whistleblower emails indicate that David Weiss may have deceived Congress in a letter where he asserted his charging authority.\">granted ultimate authority<\/a> over this matter, including responsibility for deciding where, when and whether to file charges and for making decisions necessary to preserve the integrity of the prosecution, consistent with federal law, the Principles of Federal Prosecution, and Departmental regulations,&#8217;\u201d he continued. \u201cI stand by what I wrote and wish to expand on what this means.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware, my charging authority is geographically limited to my home district,\u201d he said. \u201cIf venue for a case lies elsewhere, common Departmental practice is to contact the United States Attorney\u2019s Office for the district in question and determine whether it wants to partner on the case. If not, I may request Special Attorney status from the Attorney General pursuant to 28 U.S.C. \u00a7 515. Here, I have been assured that, if necessary after the above process, I would be granted \u00a7 515 Authority in the District of Columbia, the Central District of California, or any other district where charges could be brought in this matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the appropriate time, I welcome the opportunity to discuss these topics with the Committee in more detail, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trumps-ex-wh-counsel-mcgahn-to-testify-next-week-about-mueller-report\/\" title=\"Trump's Ex-WH Counsel McGahn to Testify Next Week About Mueller Report\">answer questions related<\/a> to the whistleblowers\u2019 allegations consistent with the law and Department policy,\u201d he concluded. \u201cIt is my understanding that the Office of Legislative Affairs will work with the Committee to discuss appropriate timeline and scope.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Breaking: <\/p>\n<p>David Weiss letter to Rep.
