This morning\u2019s ruling is just the beginning of eliminating race as a determining factor for success in our military, federal government, and boardrooms across the country, and the Anti-Woke Caucus will be at the front of that fight to restore colorblind meritocracy,\u201d Banks <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kristina_wong\/status\/1674443856174096387\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The 6-3 ruling from the court exempted military institutions, saying that there could be distinct issues at play in military academies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cNo military academy is a party to these cases, however, and none of the courts below addressed the propriety of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-exempts-military-academies-in-affirmative-action-ruling\/\" title=\"Supreme Court exempts military academies from affirmative action ruling.\">race-based admissions systems<\/a> in that context. This opinion also does not address the issue, in light of the potentially distinct interests that military academies may present,\u201d Roberts <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stripes.com\/theaters\/us\/2023-06-29\/supreme-court-ruling-ending-affirmative-action-in-college-admissions-exempts-military-academies-10590217.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">wrote<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other conservative commentators pointed out that fewer than a dozen states have laws banning affirmative action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s important to note that the SCOTUS decision is very narrow,\u201d conservative commentator Ryan Girdusky <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RyanGirdusky\/status\/1674428671975907337\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">wrote<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on Twitter. \u201cOnly 9 states ban affirmative action. If you\u2019re a state legislator, you should be putting forward a bill to ban it in your state.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">States with various <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">affirmative action bans <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/politics\/supreme-court\/states-that-already-had-affirmative-action-bans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">include<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and Oklahoma. Chip Roy (R-TX) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/a-dagger-in-our-back-leftists-freak-out-after-scotus-overturns-affirmative-action-in-college-admissions\">warned<\/a> that some universities would find a way to work around the Supreme Court\u2019s ruling, asking House Republicans if they would be ready to cut off funding for universities still pursuing race-based ends.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the schools still take steps to accomplish the race-based objective, will we still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-americans-lose-confidence-in-predominantly-left-leaning-colleges\/\" title=\"Poll: Americans Lose Confidence in Predominantly Left-Leaning Colleges\">fund higher ed<\/a> at high levels and subsidize loans to those schools? Asking for a friend\u2026,\u201d Roy said.<\/p>\n<p>Harvard has already indicated that it will find ways around the Supreme Court\u2019s ban on affirmative action as a factor in college admissions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Court also ruled that colleges and universities may consider in admissions decisions \u2018an applicant\u2019s discussion of how race affected his or her life, be it through discrimination, inspiration, or otherwise.\u2019 We will certainly comply with the Court\u2019s decision,\u201d Harvard said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harvard.edu\/admissionscase\/2023\/06\/29\/supreme-court-decision\/\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After the Supreme Court invalidated race-based admissions at Harvard and UNC, conservative politicians and commentators outlined the future course of action.
