Now He\u2019s Suing.\">affirmative action policies<\/a> in a decision that will have a profound effect on the admissions processes at universities across the country.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cEliminating racial discrimination means eliminating all of it,\u201d<\/b> Chief Justice John Roberts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/22pdf\/20-1199_hgdj.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> in the opinion for the majority.<\/p>\n<p>A group called Students for Fair Admissions had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/scotus-hinting-it-might-throw-out-affirmative-action-used-in-college-admissions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sued<\/a> the elite schools, accusing them of unfairly factoring race into their admissions processes. The group pointed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mini-doc-on-harvard-case-marks-step-forward-for-affirmative-action-critics\/\" title=\"Mini-Doc on Harvard Case Marks Step Forward for Affirmative-Action Critics\">high test scores<\/a> of Asian-American and white applicants who were rejected.<\/p>\n<p>Students for Fair Admissions celebrated their win Thursday, with the group\u2019s founder Edward Blum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/us-supreme-court-strikes-down-university-race-conscious-admissions-policies-2023-06-29\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">saying<\/a> the decision \u201cmarks the beginning of the restoration of the colorblind legal covenant that binds together our multi-racial, multi-ethnic nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe polarizing, stigmatizing and unfair jurisprudence that allowed colleges and universities to use a student\u2019s race and ethnicity as a factor to admit or reject them has been overruled. These <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/advocates-hail-scotus-decision-scrapping-affirmative-action-in-college-admissions\/\" title=\"SCOTUS decision ends affirmative action in college admissions, praised by advocates.\">discriminatory admission practices undermined<\/a> the integrity of our country\u2019s civil rights laws,\u201d Blum said.<\/p>\n<p>Kenny Xu, the author of \u201cSchool of Woke,\u201d an upcoming book on Critical Race Theory in K-12 education, said the affirmative action issue is vital for Americans \u201cbecause it reflects the sense of justice that we want to instill on our children and our children\u2019s children. Justice should be about merit, not the color of your skin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Xu, the son of Chinese immigrants, previously successfully <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/16\/meet-kenny-xu-the-anti-dei-crusader-targeting-every-medical-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lobbied<\/a> the University of North Carolina to abolish its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hiring and promotion requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Xu slammed Harvard\u2019s \u201cinvidious \u2018personality score,\u2019 which they use to viciously attack Asian applicants and smear their accomplishments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, because Harvard is populated with woke ideologues who lack a grasp of objective merit, they will fight back, and further campaigns will be needed to quell their noncompliance. But a positive decision will give us legal precedent to do what we need to do to restore colorblind treatment of individuals,\u201d Xu told The Daily Wire prior to the court\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lance Izumi, director of the Pacific Research Institute\u2019s Center for Education, hailed the court\u2019s decision as a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis decision underscores that constitutional rights adhere to all Americans and cannot be ignored, even for good intentions,\u201d Izumi told The Daily Wire. \u201cHarvard and UNC used subjective factors like personality traits to stereotype Asians and discriminate against them in the admissions process, despite Asian applicants having the highest objective academic ratings. Asian Americans, as the Supreme Court emphasized, are not just a generic group, but come from a huge range of diverse cultures.\u201d<\/p>\n<div><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/div>\n<p>Izumi added that the real systemic problem is not systemic racism but the K-12 public schools that are \u201cfailing underrepresented minority students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we want all students to have an equal chance for college admission, then the public schools have to improve drastically their performance in getting all students college ready,\u201d Izumi said.<\/p>\n<p>Do No Harm, a group of doctors and others working to protect healthcare from politicized ideologies, said Thursday\u2019s two rulings are also important for medical schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause of these decisions, medical schools can no longer racially discriminate against applicants,\u201d Do No Harm said in a press release reacting to the court\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>in college admissions, the Supreme Court&#8217;s decision to reject affirmative action policies at Harvard and UNC is celebrated by advocates.
