But time and time again, people who rely on wind and solar power have had to learn the tough lesson that such alternatives are both undependable and susceptible to the same elements they are supposed to harness.<\/p>\n<p>Nowhere was that more true than in Nebraska, where a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pictures-look-what-a-few-punishing-minutes-of-baseball-sized-hail-did-to-massive-nebraska-solar-farm\/\" title=\"Photos: See the Devastation Caused by Baseball-Sized Hail on Nebraska Solar Farm\">thunderstorm dumped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/michigan-governor-declares-state-of-emergency-after-deadly-tornado\/\" title=\"Michigan Governor Declares State Of Emergency After Deadly Tornado\">baseball-sized hail<\/a><\/a> on a solar farm on Friday at a speed of 150 mph \u2014 destroying the facility in just a few minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The Cowboy State Daily reported a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/we-messed-up-southwest-executive-testifies-on-holiday-meltdown-chaos\/\" title=\"\u2018We Messed Up\u2019: Southwest Executive Testifies On Holiday Meltdown Chaos\">storm moved east<\/a> out of Wyoming where it wreaked havoc just across the state line on a solar farm in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p>The facility previously touted its benefits for the area on its website.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cScottsbluff, Nebraska\u2019s 5.2 MW Community Solar project is a part of NPPD\u2019s Sunwise program,\u201d the facility states. \u201cThe solar array has over 14,000 solar panels, which are installed on trackers that will follow the sun throughout the day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t look like the panels will be tracking anything for the foreseeable future. Here are the results of a hail storm on Friday, June 23, 2023 in Scottsbluff County, Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p>Wonder how long that will take to get repaired? pic.twitter.com\/m0FJOXyex8<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Victoria Wesseler (@VicWesseler) June 25, 2023<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scottsbluff City Manager Kevin Spencer told Cowboy State Daily, \u201cJust by looking at it, it looks destroyed to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Writing for the outlet, Kevin Killough reported, \u201cThe hail shattered most of the panels on the 5.2-megawatt solar project, sparing an odd panel like missing teeth in a white smile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cThe Federal Emergency Management Agency ranks this area in its highest category for hail risk on the national index.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Given that information, it is confusing as to why the Scottsbluff facility was ever constructed in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, government-encouraged green energy projects with today\u2019s lack of reliable technology often deny logic while they also decimate wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>The region of the country in question is not a proper place for a solar farm by any objective metric, and yet there are plans to build another one of these eyesores.<\/p>\n<p>Killough reported, \u201cWyoming has only one commercial-scale solar farm, but a second project is under construction south of Cheyenne.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Should Nebraska continue to embrace solar energy?<\/h3>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\" class=\"one-half\">\n<div class=\"firefly-poll-question\">Should Nebraska continue to embrace solar energy?<\/div>\n<div id=\"pollFormBox\" style=\"display: none\">\n\t\t<label>Yes<\/label><br \/>\n\t\t<label>No<\/label><br \/>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-poll-disclaimer\">\n\t\tCompleting this poll entitles you to The Western Journal news updates free of charge. Hundreds of people died statewide in a situation that could have been avoided.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">BREAKING: Nearly half of Texas\u2019 wind power generation capacity has been offline because of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/millions-of-americans-brace-for-another-winter-storm\/\" title=\"Millions of Americans brace for another winter storm\">frozen wind turbines<\/a> in West Texas, grid operators report 1\/<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Austin Statesman (@statesman) February 14, 2021<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Solar and wind power make sense in some circumstances and in some regions. Massive solar farms in Arizona and Nevada generally are not imperiled by severe storms seen in the Midwest and the Southeast. Their use can help alleviate strains on the grids.
