Raimondo praises President Trump for China tariffs\">modernization efforts<\/a>, which the company believes are crucial for its survival. The press release emphasizes that without these reforms, Yellow is unlikely to survive, resulting in the loss of 30,000 jobs, including 22,000 union jobs, and severe damage to shareholders, including the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>Yellow specifically accuses Sean O\u2019Brien, IBT General President, of orchestrating these breaches and preventing Yellow from meeting with IBT leadership.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today, our 30,000 jobs, mostly union jobs, are in serious jeopardy because the leadership at the International Brotherhood of Teamsters refuses to come to the table to discuss the future of our employees,&#8221; Yellow CEO Darren Hawkins said in a video posted to Twitter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">After repeated attempts to work with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters \u2014 attempts rebuffed at every turn \u2014 to come to an agreement on Yellow\u2019s ongoing modernization, we have made the difficult decision to take legal action. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Gly6iY9ZVi\">pic.twitter.com\/Gly6iY9ZVi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Yellow (@Yellow_Trucking) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Yellow_Trucking\/status\/1673681662935220225?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re working to compete in a way that aligns with the union, but their leadership still refuses to meet,&#8221; Hawkins added.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters <a href=\"https:\/\/teamster.org\/2023\/06\/teamsters-blast-yellow-corp-s-baseless-lawsuit\/\">responded<\/a> to the lawsuit, describing it as &#8220;baseless.&#8221; Teamsters General President Sean O\u2019Brien claimed that &#8220;Yellow Corp.&#8217;s claims of breach of contract by the Teamsters are unfounded and without merit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yellow blew through a $700 million bailout from the federal government, and now it wants workers to foot the bill,&#8221; O\u2019Brien alleged.<\/p>\n<p>The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nysun.com\/article\/looming-strike-against-ups-by-teamsters-to-test-bidens-love-affair-with-unions\">preparing to initiate a strike<\/a> against the United Parcel Service (UPS) if the company and the union do not reach an agreement by July 31st.
