However, officials claimed that the captured information was not successfully transmitted to China before the balloon was shot down.<\/p>\n<p>China had claimed that the balloon was a weather balloon which had been blown off course. However, an investigation by U.S. intelligence agencies found that the balloon was used for spying. The findings were supported by the analysis of the balloon\u2019s contents.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Washington Journal, analysis of the balloon, conducted by several intelligence agencies that included the FBI, found that the content of balloon included commercially available American equipment that was used in conjunction with more advanced Chinese equipment which was used to transmit information back to Beijing. Although no further details on the equipment was provided.<\/p>\n<p>Officials in the Biden administration have claimed that the Chinese spy mission had failed but did not specify why. However, this report by the officials is contradictory to a confirmed NBC story in April which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chinese-spy-balloon-contained-american-tech\/\" title=\"Chinese spy balloon held US technology.\">quoted senior government officials<\/a> who had claimed that the balloon had collected data from sensitive military sites and successfully transmitted back to Beijing in real time.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese balloon had flown across the United States from Alaska to the East Coast before it was shot down off the coast of South Carolina over the Atlantic Ocean on February 4<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The incident had raised tensions between China and the United States at a time where the relationship between the two nations was already deteriorating.<\/p>\n<p>In June, President Joe Biden said that the incident was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/newsroom\/biden-says-spy-balloon-was-more-embarrassing-for-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more embarrassing<\/a> for Chinese President Xi Jinping because they did not know the location of the balloon or what was happening.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden says the Chinese spy balloon he let surveil the entire United States before shooting it down over the ocean &#8220;was more embarrassing than it was intentional&#8221; for China. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/PeyyYfqwJ1\">pic.twitter.com\/PeyyYfqwJ1<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1670079495901159426?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 17, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think the leadership knew where it was and knew what was in it and knew what was going on,\u201d Biden told reporters. \u201cIt was, I think it was more embarrassing than it was intentional.
