By this standard, the Court&#8217;s decision to strike down race-based affirmative action is laudably legitimate.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, oppose race-based affirmative action in university admissions, polls show.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>By the numbers<\/strong>: More than two-thirds of Americans say colleges and universities should not use race as a factor in admission, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2023\/06\/07\/us\/major-supreme-court-cases-2023.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to the <em>New York Times<\/em>.
