Version: 4.0.47--><h2>Man Charged in Fatal Subway Stabbing Will Not Be Prosecuted<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Jordan Williams, a man charged in the fatal stabbing of another rider during a confrontation on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/new-york-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York City<\/a> subway train in Brooklyn, will not be prosecuted, according to officials.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Grand Jury Decision<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ohio-grand-jury-affirms-stand-your-ground-law-declines-to-indict-man-who-shot-daughters-ex-boyfriend-as-he-broke-into-their-home\/\" title=\"Ohio Grand Jury Affirms \u201cStand Your Ground Law,\u201d Declines to Indict Man Who Shot Daughter's Ex-Boyfriend as He Broke Into Their Home\">grand jury voted<\/a> not to indict Williams, a 20-year-old from Queens who <a href=\"https:\/\/gothamist.com\/news\/charges-dropped-against-accused-j-train-stabber-who-claimed-self-defense\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed he was acting in self-defense<\/a>, on manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon charges in connection to the June 13 encounter that left Devictor Ouedraogo dead.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Impartial Investigation<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cOur office conducted an impartial and thorough investigation of this tragic case, which included review of multiple videos and interviews with all available witnesses, and that evidence was fairly presented to a grand jury,\u201d a spokesperson for the Brooklyn District Attorney\u2019s Office said on Wednesday. \u201cToday, the charges against Jordan Williams have been dismissed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Justified Use of Force<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The spokesperson added: \u201cUnder New York law, a person is justified in using deadly physical force when they reasonably believe it is necessary to use such force to defend themselves or others from imminent use of deadly or unlawful physical force.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Claims of Self-Defense<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Jason Goldman, a lawyer representing Williams, had said the \u201cvictim was menacing people, as all of us have probably seen on the subway, erratic, deranged, crazy and in many people\u2019s faces before he even encounters my client,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/jordan-williams-accused-in-fatal-j-train-stabbing-in-williamsburg-granted-supervised-release\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">per CBS News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Details of the Incident<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Ouedraogo, identified as a 36-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/pix11.com\/news\/local-news\/brooklyn\/charges-dismissed-against-man-in-fatal-brooklyn-subway-stabbing-da-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">homeless man with a criminal record<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/charges-dismissed-against-man-in-fatal-stabbing-of-alleged-nyc-subway-menace\/\" title=\"Man cleared of charges in deadly stabbing of alleged NYC subway troublemaker.\">allegedly told riders<\/a> on the subway car he was going to \u201cerase someone\u201d and asked Williams\u2019s girlfriend, \u201cWant to f***?\u201d, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/06\/28\/accused-j-train-stabber-dodges-manslaughter-charges-in-fatal-nyc-subway-brawl-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Post<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>A confrontation between Ouedraogo and Williams ensued in which witnesses said Ouedraogo threw the first punch, a law enforcement source <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/06\/28\/nyregion\/nyc-subway-stabbing-charges-dropped.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sources told The New York Post that video footage presented to the grand jury allegedly showed Ouedraogo choking Williams and striking Williams\u2019s girlfriend in the face.<\/p>\n<p>The clash allegedly came to an end after Williams pulled out a knife and stabbed Ouedraogo.<\/p>\n<p>After police responded to a 911 call and found Ouedraogo at a train station, Ouedraogo was transported to the hospital with a chest stab wound and pronounced dead. Williams was taken into custody a few stops away and later released without bail.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Relief and Controversy<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI was scared in that situation,\u201d Williams said after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/houston-texans-quarterback-will-not-face-criminal-charges-for-sexual-assault-allegations\/\" title=\"Houston Texans Quarterback Will Not Face Criminal Charges For Sexual Assault Allegations\">grand jury declined<\/a> to indict him, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnewyork.com\/news\/local\/charges-dropped-against-nyc-man-accused-in-deadly-self-defense-subway-stabbing\/4462523\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to NBC New York<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m happy that I can get on with my life the way I\u2019d like to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ouedraogo\u2019s younger sister Marina said she believes the dismissal was \u201cjust wrong,\u201d The New York Times reported. \u201cIt is sending a signal that basically any one of us can carry a weapon. That is basically what we are saying here.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Another Deadly Incident<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The fatal altercation followed another deadly New York City subway incident in which Marine veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/marine-vet-accused-of-killing-jordan-neely-turns-himself-in-after-charge-against-him-revealed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniel Penny<\/a> used a headlock restraint on Jordan Neely, a homeless man who allegedly shouted and threatened passengers, before Neely passed out and died.<\/p>\n<p>Penny, who claims he acted to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/daniel-penny-speaks-out-about-death-of-jordan-neely-disputes-key-claim-about-headlock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defend himself and others<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/daniel-penny-pleads-not-guilty-to-charges-over-jordan-neelys-death\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pleaded not guilty<\/a> to manslaughter and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/daniel-penny-pleads-not-guilty\/\" title=\"Daniel Penny denies any wrongdoing.\">negligent homicide charges<\/a> on Wednesday and was freed on <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/daniel-penny-expected-court-chokehold-death-jordan-neely\/story?id=100334248\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$100,000 bail<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jordan Williams, accused of fatally stabbing a fellow subway rider in Brooklyn, will not face prosecution.
