James Comer (R-Ky.), Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), and Jason Smith (R-Mo.), who head up three important panels in the House of Representatives, on June 28 released a joint statement promising a full investigation into whistleblower allegations made against the Justice Department\u2019s Hunter Biden probe.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the three has led different investigations into President Joe Biden\u2019s family and government through their respective panels.<\/p>\n<p>Comer leads the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, which has been looking into the Biden family\u2019s business dealings and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/top-house-republicans-pledge-investigation-into-irs-whistleblower-allegations\/\" title=\"House GOP Vows Probe Into IRS Whistleblower Claims\">alleged foreign influence peddling scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5280772\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/21\/id5280772-GettyImages-1460829313-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/21\/id5280772-GettyImages-1460829313-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"James Comer\" \/><br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<p>Jordan, through the House Judiciary Committee Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, has been investigating allegations that Biden has &#8220;weaponized&#8221; federal law enforcement against his political rivals.<\/p>\n<p>Smith, who heads up the House Ways and Means Committee, is the most recent lawmaker to enter the investigative field, unveiling on June 22 stunning revelations from whistleblower IRS Supervisor and Special Agent Gary Shapley, who alleged that the IRS and Department of Justice (DOJ) had given Hunter Biden &#8220;preferential treatment,&#8221; interfering in the investigation to shield the president\u2019s son from having search warrants or charges pressed against him.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5349885\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/06\/22\/id5349885-IMG_0594-1200x670.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/06\/22\/id5349885-IMG_0594-1200x670.jpg\" alt=\"Jason Smith\" \/><br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<p>On June 28, the three lawmakers announced in a joint <a href=\"https:\/\/republicans-waysandmeansforms.house.gov\/news\/email\/show.aspx?ID=YLEXNAAQYIXC2VTYKTXMK2FCXY\">statement<\/a> that they would &#8220;[pursue] a thorough investigation into this misconduct to deliver the transparency and accountability that the American people demand and deserve.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Politicization and misconduct at the Department of Justice and IRS during the investigation into Hunter Biden reveal a two-tiered system of justice and unequal application of the law. According to whistleblower testimony, the Justice Department refused to follow evidence that implicated Joe Biden, tipped off Hunter Biden\u2019s attorneys, allowed the clock to run out with respect to certain charges, and put tax-cheat Hunter Biden on the path towards a sweetheart plea deal,&#8221; the congressmen wrote.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5349976\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/06\/22\/id5349976-06212023-DSC00506-Jim-Jordan-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/06\/22\/id5349976-06212023-DSC00506-Jim-Jordan-1200x800.jpg\" alt=\"Jim Jordan\" \/><br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<p>Shapley told the Ways and Means Committee\u2014the first to hear his testimony due to a section of IRS Code only allowing that panel to hear and release whistleblower allegations to the full House\u2014that the DOJ &#8220;hamstrung&#8221; the investigation into the Bidens for political reasons.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At every stage decisions were made that had the effect of benefiting the subject of the investigation [Hunter Biden],&#8221; Shapley said. &#8220;These <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-is-above-the-law\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden is immune to legal consequences.\">decisions included slow-walking investigative steps<\/a>, not allowing enforcement actions to be executed, limiting investigators\u2019 line of questioning for witnesses, misleading investigators on charging authority, delaying any and all actions months before elections.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in his testimony, Shapley said, &#8220;After former Vice President Joe Biden became the presumptive Democratic nominee for President in early April 2020, career DOJ officials dragged their feet on the IRS taking these investigative steps.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In one case, the IRS investigators were reportedly able to authenticate a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/i-am-sitting-here-with-my-father-hunter-biden-says-in-whatsapp-message-to-chinese-businessman-whistleblower_5350508.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WhatsApp message<\/a> in which Hunter Biden was apparently demanding payment from a Chinese business associate. In the text, Hunter Biden said that his father was in the room and invoked his father\u2019s name to threaten the person.<\/p>\n<p>Shapley also said IRS investigators were told by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf that, because evidence needed for the investigation would be found in a guest house owned by Joe Biden, &#8220;there is no way&#8221; that a search warrant for evidence would ever get approved.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Hunter Biden\u2019s attorneys were allegedly given &#8220;crucial information&#8221; about the investigation, Shapley said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3766896\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2021\/04\/08\/Hunter-Biden-1200x675.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2021\/04\/08\/Hunter-Biden-1200x675.jpg\" alt=\"Hunter Biden\" \/><br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<p>In such an instance, the attorneys were made aware that the IRS knew about documents stored in a Northern Virginia storage unit, giving them time to remove any documents that could be used in the case against their client, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden ultimately received a plea deal that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/boston-university-requires-faculty-to-say-they-should-intervene-if-a-woman-is-encouraged-to-have-children\/\" title=\"Boston University Requires Faculty To Say They Should \u2018Intervene\u2019 If a Woman Is Encouraged To Have Children\">drew sharp criticism<\/a> from Republicans, many of whom described it as a &#8220;sweetheart&#8221; deal.<\/p>\n<p>According to the whistleblower, the IRS ultimately recommended three charges against Hunter Biden in regard to $2.2 million of unreported income from foreign sources: a felony attempt to defeat or evade tax charges, making felony fraudulent or false statements, and willful failure to file returns, supply information, or pay tax\u2014serious charges that could land an American, if convicted, in prison for years.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Justice Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/hunter-biden-pleads-guilty-to-federal-charges_5344246.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that Hunter Biden had agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reps.
