Were you sitting there? Were you involved?\u201d a reporter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greg_price11\/status\/1674059228258922496\">asked<\/a> Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, I wasn\u2019t,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWere you?\u201d the reporter repeated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo!\u201d Biden replied again.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Bombshell Whistleblower Allegations<\/h3>\n<p>On June 22, the House Ways and Means Committee unveiled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblower-biden-admin-welcomed-hundreds-of-afghans-on-pentagon-watchlist-to-u-s\/\" title=\"Whistleblower: Biden Admin Welcomed Hundreds Of Afghans On Pentagon Watchlist To U.S.\">bombshell whistleblower allegations<\/a> claiming that the IRS and Department of Justice (DOJ) had given Hunter Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/hunter-biden-received-preferential-treatment-from-irs-doj-over-felony-tax-fraud-investigation-irs-whistleblowers_5349754.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cpreferential treatment,\u201d<\/a> interfering in the investigation to shield Hunter Biden from having search warrants or charges pressed against him.<\/p>\n<p>According to testimony by Gary Shapley, an official at the IRS, he and his fellow investigators\u2014while looking into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-denies-being-in-room-with-son-when-whatsapp-message-was-sent\/\" title=\"Biden denies presence with son during WhatsApp message.\">felony tax fraud case<\/a> into Hunter Biden\u2014were able to \u201cauthenticate\u201d a July 30, 2017, WhatsApp message sent from Biden to Henry Zhao (<a href=\"https:\/\/waysandmeans.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Whistleblower-1-Transcript_Redacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pdf<\/a>). The Epoch Times has not been able to independently verify the message.<\/p>\n<p>Zhao, also known as Zhao Xuejun, is the president and CEO of Beijing-based investment firm Harvest Capital Management and also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/possible-chinese-takeover-of-japanese-lcd-maker-raises-security-concerns_2866772.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">head<\/a> of the firm\u2019s Chinese Communist Party cell. Zhao\u2019s firm participated in the establishment of a Shanghai-based investment firm called BHR Partners, that Hunter Biden had also helped set up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Hunter was an unpaid board member of BHR until April 2020 and held a 10 percent stake in the company but was divested as of November 2021, according to his lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>In a message, Hunter Biden appears to demand payment from Zhao.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sitting here with my father, and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,\u201d the younger Biden wrote, according to Shapley\u2019s testimony. He then expressed the wish to \u201cresolve this before it got out of hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow means tonight,\u201d Biden said, warning that if anyone other than Zhao, \u201cZhang, or the chairman\u201d tried to reach out about the matter, \u201cI will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5260966\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/05\/12\/id5260966-GettyImages-1251382645-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    <\/figure>\n<p>Shapley alleged in his testimony that the DOJ stalled criminal action against Biden both before and after the 2020 election, refusing to allow the execution of a search warrant for evidence at an estate owned by then-candidate Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblower said that messages like the above made it clear that the IRS needed to search Joe Biden\u2019s guest house, where Hunter had stayed for a while. But in a September 2020 meeting, Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf told IRS investigators \u201cthere is no way\u201d a search warrant for evidence would ever get approved and that optics was a primary consideration. At the time, Joe Biden was a candidate in the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>The IRS ultimately recommended three charges against Hunter Biden in regards to $2.2 million of unreported income from foreign sources: a felony attempt to defeat or evade tax charges, making felony fraudulent or false statements, and willful failure to file returns, supply information, or pay tax\u2014serious charges that could land an American, if convicted, in prison for years.<\/p>\n<p>But reportedly, U.S. Attorney David Weiss\u2014the lead prosecutor in the case\u2014told Shapley that the decision to press these charges against Hunter Biden did not lie with him, suggesting directives from higher-ups at the DOJ.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Merrick Garland has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/garland-denies-irs-whistleblower-claims-of-interference-with-biden-case_5353026.html\">denied<\/a> these charges, saying that Weiss had full authority as a U.S. attorney to press whichever charges he saw fit.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5333526\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n      <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/06\/14\/id5333526-ag-garland-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    <\/figure>\n<p>Democrats in Congress, meanwhile, have mostly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/democrats-mostly-sidestep-questions-on-hunter-biden-irs-allegations_5353098.html\">sidestepped<\/a> questions about the allegations. All 18 Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee voted against releasing the whistleblower allegations to the public.<\/p>\n<p>White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/white-house-deflects-questions-on-hunter-bidens-business-dealings-in-china-after-whistleblower-allegations_5353386.html\">refused<\/a> to comment on the matter when pressed on the allegations by several reporters at a June 23 press conference.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s denial comes as Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) has <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/repdarrellissa\/status\/1672992630358040577\">claimed<\/a> that the president has \u201cofficially lawyered up\u201d in the aftermath of the discovery.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has been investigating foreign income the president and his son received during the 2010s, including when Biden was still vice president.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Bobulinski\u2019s Claims<\/h2>\n<p>The claims made by Shapley are the latest in a line of allegations surrounding the Bidens\u2019 foreign business dealings.<\/p>\n<p>In the weeks before the 2020 election, the New York Post published an email from Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop, which has since been authenticated, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/i-am-sitting-here-with-my-father-hunter-biden-says-in-whatsapp-message-to-chinese-businessman-whistleblower\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden tells a Chinese businessman in a WhatsApp message: \"I'm here with my father.\" Whistleblower reveals.\">detailing proposed payout packages<\/a> and equity shares in a Biden venture with a now-defunct Chinese energy conglomerate.<\/p>\n<p>The now-infamous email, written by Hunter Biden, states, \u201c10 [percent] held by H for the big guy?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tom Bobulinski, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, later publicly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/former-biden-associate-says-big-guy-in-china-deal-was-joe-biden_3548940.html\">confirmed<\/a> that \u201cthe big guy\u201d was a reference to the elder Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am making this statement to set the record straight about the involvement of the Biden family\u2014then-Vice President Biden, his brother Jim Biden, and his son Hunter Biden\u2014in dealings with the Chinese,\u201d Bobulinski said in a press conference in October 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have heard Joe Biden say he has never discussed business with Hunter,\u201d Bobulinski said. \u201cThat is false.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before moving into his claims about the Biden family\u2019s business dealings, Bobulinski insisted that he could corroborate everything he was saying.
