Jean Carroll<\/h2>\n<p>Former President Donald Trump has filed a counterclaim against writer E. Jean Carroll, accusing her of defamation after winning a civil trial against him last month.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll has made allegations that Trump raped her during a 1990s encounter at a New York City department store, which Trump vehemently denies.<\/p>\n<p>In May, a jury found Trump liable for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ariz-prison-escapees-recaptured-after-manhunt\/\" title=\"Ariz. prison escapees recaptured after manhunt\">sexual abuse<\/a> and defamation, awarding Carroll $5 million, but did not find him liable for rape.<\/p>\n<p>Trump filed a counterclaim on Tuesday, stating that Carroll is guilty of defamation for persistently claiming he raped her despite the jury&#8217;s verdict.<\/p>\n<p>The counterclaim, known as Carroll II, is one of two additional lawsuits Carroll has pending against Trump, with the first scheduled for trial next year.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview on CNN, Carroll was asked about the jury&#8217;s finding that Trump was not liable for rape in Carroll II.
