He stated that Weiss was given full authority to bring charges in any jurisdiction he chose and that he never received a request to confer special counsel status on Weiss.<\/p>\n<p>Garland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=glj-Y72lMlM&#038;t=1884s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explained<\/a> that Weiss, who was assigned the Hunter Biden case under former President Donald Trump, had the freedom to continue his investigation and make decisions on prosecution in any district.
