in his June 22 response.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We reiterate those requests to the Department and expect to receive the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jordan-demands-answers-on-hunter-biden-prosecutors-refusal-to-provide-documents\/\" title=\"Jordan wants answers about why the prosecutor in Hunter Biden's case is refusing to hand over documents.\">responsive material promptly<\/a>,&#8221; Jordan wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan also asked Weiss to provide a list of all those who assisted in drafting his June 7 letter, as well as the names of the people who &#8220;instructed&#8221; him to send it and who forwarded the committee&#8217;s letter.<\/p>\n<p>The congressman also requested details of any conversations or communications Weiss had with Garland pertaining to the committee&#8217;s letter.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>&#8216;Political Considerations&#8217;<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In his June 7 letter, Weiss stated that Jordan&#8217;s letter had been forwarded to him with a request to respond on behalf of the Justice Department.<\/p>\n<p>Weiss emphasized that he has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-whistleblower-emails-suggest-david-weiss-misled-congress-in-letter-claiming-charging-authority\/\" title=\"IRS whistleblower emails indicate that David Weiss may have deceived Congress in a letter where he asserted his charging authority.\">granted ultimate authority<\/a> over the matter and that his decisions are made without reference to political considerations.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan, however, pointed out that the committee&#8217;s focus is on the Justice Department&#8217;s adherence to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-whistleblower-threatened-for-internal-email-warning-of-irs-corruption\/\" title=\"Whistleblower who warned of IRS corruption threatened over Hunter Biden email.\">whistleblower protection laws<\/a>, not on the prosecution of a particular person.<\/p>\n<p>Concluding that the Justice Department has &#8220;no legitimate basis&#8221;
