The damaged car&#8217;s owner noticed a &#8220;Re-elect Senator Josh Miller&#8221; sticker on a nearby car and identified the Democrat as the suspect to police.<\/p>\n<p>The <i>Fall River Reporter<\/i> <a href=\"https:\/\/fallriverreporter.com\/rhode-island-politician-accused-of-keying-car-in-shopping-center-with-anti-biden-sticker\/\">reported<\/a> the car&#8217;s owner had an anti-Biden sticker on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mayor-declares-state-of-emergency-ahead-of-bodycam-footage-release-of-fatal-shooting\/\" title=\"Mayor Declares State Of Emergency Ahead Of Bodycam Footage Release Of Fatal Shooting\">back windshield<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/turnto10.com\/news\/local\/sen-josh-miller-arrested-in-cranston-for-on-malicious-damage-charge-cranston-police-department-june-23-2023\">According<\/a> to local outlet WJAR, the owner was a supporter of former president Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<h3>Denial and Admission<\/h3>\n<p>Miller was confronted by police hours later and denied the crime. He had removed his jacket, and officers asked if he did so to avoid recognition.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/winred.tomcotton.com\/tom-cotton\/defend-scotus-ads-beacon?utm_source=rc&#038;utm_medium=beaconads&#038;utm_campaign=2023maybeaconscotus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/winred.tomcotton.com\/tom-cotton\/defend-scotus-ads-beacon?utm_source=rc&#038;utm_medium=beaconads&#038;utm_campaign=2023maybeaconscotus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I took my jacket off, that\u2019s not against the law,&#8221; the Democrat told police.<\/p>\n<p>The Democrat later admitted to the crime when police came to his home. He said the owner of the car, whose name has not been made public, <a href=\"https:\/\/fallriverreporter.com\/rhode-island-politician-accused-of-keying-car-in-shopping-center-with-anti-biden-sticker\/\">yelled<\/a> at him and &#8220;dared him&#8221; to do it.
