The stay heretofore entered by the Court on June 28, 2022, is vacated,&#8221; the court wrote in a statement (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/orders\/courtorders\/062623zor_7m58.pdf\">pdf<\/a>). The court emphasized the need to resolve the case before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-democrat-congressman-alcee-hastings-dies-at-84\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Democrat Congressman Alcee Hastings Dies At 84\">congressional elections<\/a> in Louisiana scheduled for November 2024. They stated, &#8220;This will allow the matter to proceed before the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit for review in the ordinary course and in advance of the 2024 congressional elections in Louisiana.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear if there were any dissents, as the order was unsigned.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the justices had put the case on hold pending their ruling in a similar case from Alabama, which they issued on June 8. In that case, they dismissed the appeal by Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin regarding a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-energy-policy-enriched-russia-and-emboldened-putin\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s Energy Policy Enriched Russia and Emboldened Putin\">federal judge&#8217;<\/a>s decision that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/redistricting-battles-heat-up-as-democrats-play-gerrymander-hardball-and-the-house-hangs-in-the-balance\/\" title=\"Redistricting Battles Heat Up as Democrats Play Gerrymander Hardball and the House Hangs in the Balance\">map drawn<\/a> by the Republican-led state legislature of the House districts likely discriminated unlawfully based on race.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Judge Shelly Dick had directed Louisiana&#8217;s legislature to create two new districts last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Supreme Court dismissed the writ of certiorari before judgment, indicating that another congressional map might need to be redrawn due to allegations of diluting black voters&#8217; influence.
