He\u2019s Suing School That Broke Contract To Investigate Him.\">false police reports<\/a> in connection to his colorful account of MAGA banditry \u2014 all charges felonies under Illinois law.<\/p>\n<p>The hoaxer was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jussie-smollett-totally-disregards-courts-decision-files-102-page-appeal-attacking-prosecutor-judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">booked<\/a> into the Cook County Jail to serve his sentence the day of his initial conviction \u2014 only for his jail time to be stayed pending his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jussie-smollett-totally-disregards-courts-decision-files-102-page-appeal-attacking-prosecutor-judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appeal<\/a> a week later.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s set to ultimately serve five months behind bars for his charges, unless he succeeds in overturning his conviction.<\/p>\n<p>Smollett continues to assert his innocence, even as the two brothers implicated in staging the attack have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/video-osundairo-bros-smolletts-dirty-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pointed to him<\/a> as the originator of the plot.<\/p>\n<p>Smollett previously worked with Fox on \u201cEmpire,\u201d a show that was ultimately canceled a year after his organized hoax.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Jussie Smollett Directing New Film With Vivica A.
