On Saturday night, they began withdrawing from the Rostov military headquarters they had seized, a Reuters witness said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Financial markets have often been volatile since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, which caused ruptures in markets and through global finance as banks and investors rushed to unwind exposure.<\/p>\n<p>After Saturday\u2019s events, some investors said they were focused on the potential impact to safe-haven assets such as U.S. Treasuries and on commodities prices, as Russia is a major energy supplier.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt certainly remains to be seen what happens in the next day or two, but if there remains uncertainty about leadership in Russia, investors may flock to safe havens,\u201d said Gennadiy Goldberg, head of U.S. rates strategy at TD Securities in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Goldberg said that despite the de-escalation, \u201cinvestors may remain nervous about subsequent instability, and could remain cautious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The action sparked attention globally, and revived an old fear in Washington about what happens to Russia\u2019s nuclear stockpile in the event of domestic upheaval.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMarkets typically do not respond well to events that are unfolding and are uncertain,\u201d particularly relating to Putin and Russia, said Quincy Krosby, chief global strategist at LPL Financial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the uncertainty escalates, you\u2019re going to see Treasuries get a bid, gold will get a bid and the Japanese yen tends to gain in situations like this,\u201d Krosby said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/russia-back-in-investors-focus-after-weekend-mutiny\/\" title=\"Investors refocus on Russia following weekend mutiny.\">mentioning typical safe-haven assets<\/a> that investors buy when risks rise.<\/p>\n<p>Alastair Winter, Global Investment Strategist at Argyll Europe said that while the de-escalation meant markets may now not react much, \u201cPutin has clearly been weakened and there will be more developments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He saw the U.S. dollar finding \u201csome support as the market returns to speculating over rate hikes and cuts and recession in different economies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stocks have been on a mostly upward path in recent months, which some said could make then more vulnerable to a selloff. Year-to-date the S&#038;P 500 is up 13%, although it has lost steam in recent days with interest rates in focus. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell gave testimony last week in which he signaled more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wall-street-ends-down-snaps-weekly-winning-streak-on-fed-worries\/\" title=\"Wall Street closes lower, breaks weekly winning streak due to Fed concerns.\">interest rate hikes ahead<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some saw little reaction as the situation seemed defused.
