China<\/h2>\n<p>Amid the public\u2019s rising concerns about artificial intelligence, a group of bipartisan lawmakers, led by Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, have recently pushed for legislation that would regulate the technology.<\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alarm-bells-ring-as-democrats-prepare-to-hand-massive-economic-advantage-to-china\/\" title=\"Democrats' plan raises concerns as it could give China a significant economic edge.\">industry experts warned<\/a> the legislative move could inadvertently give <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/war-looming-china-taiwan-30-chinese-flyovers-single-day-1-us-military-move-troubling-signs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">China<\/a> an economic and <a To Curb Greenhouse Gases\">technological advantage<\/a> over the U.S. if AI was overregulated.<\/p>\n<p>On June 9, the experts told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/over-regulation-artificial-intelligence-lead-chinese-dominance-experts-warn-they-want-to-win\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> that the federal government and private sector should continue spending on AI and hold back on strict regulations to compete with China.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diveplane CEO Dr. Michael Capps<\/strong>, while expressing hesitation toward AI regulation, encouraged more investment in the emerging technology.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a big fan of tripling down on AI spending because that\u2019s how you get savings in the future,\u201d Capps said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[For example], better AI investment now is going to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/over-230-economists-give-dire-warning-about-inflation-reduction-act-say-it-will-make-inflation-worse\/\" title=\"Over 230 Economists Give programs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Liberty Blockchain COO Christopher Alexander<\/strong> believes possible restrictions passed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/revealed-congress-didnt-get-truth-bidens-energy-secretary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Congress<\/a> are not what America needs, as China is showing no signs of slowing down its AI development.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThey want to win, and they are willing to go to any lengths to do that,\u201d Alexander said. \u201cThere are a lot of complicated issues with regard to regulation and AI is extremely dangerous and could take us places where humanity doesn\u2019t want to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not against regulation, but of course, if we were to regulate it, that would put us at a disadvantage with anyone who didn\u2019t regulate it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Gordon Chang<\/strong>, author of \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/books\/26093\/the-coming-collapse-of-china-by-gordon-g-chang\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Coming Collapse of China<\/a>,\u201d gave advice on how the U.S. could take a step in the right direction regarding American investment in Chinese companies.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe have to recognize the comprehensiveness of the Chinese system and cut trade and investment with China,\u201d Chang said. \u201cIf we do that, China does not have a chance of competing with the United States because we\u2019re a far stronger society.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Their remarks come after Schumer said last month that lawmakers were working toward drafting legislation that would address the issue of AI regulation, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/artificial-intelligence-ai-chatgpt-regulations-schumer-7c2fe089fc72a05fe0176bc8459e91cf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sam Altman<\/strong>, the CEO of OpenAI which owns ChatGPT, appeared in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 16, given his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-bipartisan-rail-safety-bill-is-a-reasonable-response-to-east-palestine-crisis\/\" title=\"The Bipartisan Rail Safety Bill Is A Reasonable Response To East Palestine Crisis\">industry expertise<\/a>, to advise that government intervention is critical in controlling the growing risks of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-democratic-congressman-admits-speech-written-artificial-intelligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AI<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>By the end of the hearing, he proposed that a U.S. or global agency be established to license and oversee all AI systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs this technology advances, we understand that people are anxious about how it could change the way we live,\u201d Altman said, per the AP. \u201cWe are, too.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On June 8, two new AI-related bills were introduced to Congress, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/us-congress-consider-two-new-bills-artificial-intelligence-2023-06-08\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a> reported.
