Nikki Haley Calls for Federal Law on Abortion<\/h2>\n<p>Speaking at the Faith and Freedom Coalition&#8217;s Road to Majority Policy Conference, former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) expressed her belief that there is a place for federal law on abortion. This comes on the one-year anniversary of the Supreme Court&#8217;s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade with its Dobbs v. Jackson Women&#8217;s Health Organization.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Now, some of the states have become more pro-life and I welcome that. Some have become more on the abortion side; I wish that wasn&#8217;t the case,&#8221; Haley told attendees. &#8220;But now there&#8217;s the issue of, is there a place for a federal law. I think there is.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Haley acknowledged the challenges of passing federal legislation, stating, &#8220;But in order for us to have a federal law, let&#8217;s be honest, it takes the majority of the House, it takes 60, six zero, Senate votes and a signature of a president.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This marks a shift in Haley&#8217;s previous stance, where she deemed a federal abortion ban as &#8220;unrealistic.&#8221; However, she emphasized the need for unity and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-un-pick-urges-continued-u-s-presence-in-chinese-led-panels\/\" title=\"Biden\u2019s UN pick urges continued U.S. presence in Chinese-led panels\">finding common ground<\/a> in Congress, which has historically been divided on this issue.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We haven&#8217;t had 60 Senate votes in over 100 years. We might have 45 pro-life senators. So let&#8217;s start talking about how we can come together on what we can agree on,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I think we could do federal legislation that the American people will agree. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), have also voiced their support for anti-abortion legislation. However, he has previously boasted about his Supreme Court nominations that contributed to the overturning of Roe v. Wade.<\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, Haley reiterated her commitment to the cause of life, emphasizing the importance of compassion and protecting both babies and mothers. &#8220;We have to humanize this situation.
