They accused the company of benefiting from Epstein and turning a blind eye to his abuses.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>In a federal court filing in Manhattan on Thursday, lawyers said the proposed settlement was \u201cfair, adequate, reasonable\u201d and in the best interests of the victims. The number of women is not specified, but the settlement involves women who were either sexually abused or trafficked by Epstein from 1998 to 2019. Epstein was a JPMorgan client from 1998 to 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The settlement is the result of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fda-investigation-into-juul-could-vaporize-e-cigarette-giant\/\" title=\"FDA Investigation Into Juul Could Vaporize E-Cigarette Giant\">multi-year investigation<\/a> which initially kicked off in 2021. The Lead Plaintiff\u2019s counsel filed an individual and class action complaint in November 2022, which was later amended in January 2023.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe operative Complaint alleges that Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/twitter-tries-to-dismiss-another-child-porn-case-citing-section-230-even-if-allegations-true-were-not-liable\/\" title=\"Twitter Tries To Dismiss Another Child Porn Case Citing Section 230: Even If Allegations \u2018True,\u2019 We\u2019re Not \u2018Liable\u2019\">sex trafficking venture<\/a> was facilitated and enabled by Defendant (JPMorgan) helping Epstein avoid regulators\u2019 scrutiny and providing Epstein with withdrawal and wire services, all so Defendant could profit from Epstein and his associates,\u201d the filing notes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It also stated that JPMorgan denies all of the Lead Plaintiff\u2019s allegations.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cDefendant denies that JPMorgan participated in the Epstein sex trafficking venture. Defendant further denies that its conduct supported Epstein\u2019s sex trafficking venture or prevented law enforcement from apprehending Epstein sooner than it ultimately did. Defendant contests Lead Plaintiff\u2019s allegations that Defendant has liability under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (\u201cTVPA\u201d) or under New York law.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, despite denying such claims, JPMorgan released a statement earlier this month saying any association with Epstein \u201cwas a mistake and we regret it.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWe all now understand that Epstein\u2019s behavior was monstrous, and we believe this settlement is in the best interest of all parties, especially the survivors, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jpmorgan-to-pay-290-million-in-epstein-settlement\/\" title=\"JPMorgan to pay 0M in Epstein settlement.\">suffered unimaginable abuse<\/a> at the hands of this man,\u201d the company added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Epstein was arrested on federal charges in 2019, and was found dead in his jail cell from apparent suicide not long after.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
