Every Democrat on the panel voted against releasing the transcripts to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Democrats are largely evading making comments on the allegations.<\/p>\n<p>Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard Neal (D-Mass.) briefly commented to The Epoch Times on his \u201cNo\u201d vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of yesterday it was a half-baked case, we\u2019re just gonna have to wait and see,\u201d said Neal. \u201cThey didn\u2019t make a presentation that cut new ground, I can tell you that.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4653148\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2022\/08\/09\/rep-neal-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal (D-Mass.) speaks in Washington on Oct. 26, 2021. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), who does not sit on the Ways and Means panel, simply told The Epoch Times that he \u201c[does] not think it\u2019s accurate\u201d to say that the DOJ and IRS shielded Biden.<\/p>\n<p>When pressed to explain further, Sherman did not reply.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have also avoided discussing the issue on social media. So far, no Democratic member of the Ways and Means Committee has commented on the charges on Twitter or elsewhere.<\/p>\n<h2>Republicans React to Allegations<\/h2>\n<p>Republicans have been more outspoken about the allegations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs there anybody that would really be surprised?\u201d Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) told The Epoch Times when asked for his reaction. \u201cI was not surprised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst of all, it\u2019s outrageous, \u2026 it\u2019s corrupt. And it speaks of an authoritarian, leftist type of government.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5092098\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/03\/01\/Biggs-fentanyl-hearing-1200x675.jpeg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    Rep. (House Judiciary Committee Youtube\/Screenshot via NTD)<br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<p>But \u201cmore damning,\u201d Biggs said, was the allegation that President Joe Biden stood by as Hunter Biden demanded payment from Chinese Communist Party official and businessman Henry Zhao.<\/p>\n<p>IRS investigators were reportedly able to authenticate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/i-am-sitting-here-with-my-father-hunter-biden-says-in-whatsapp-message-to-chinese-businessman-whistleblower_5350508.html\">WhatsApp message<\/a> to Zhao, in which Hunter Biden demanded payment from him. In the text, Biden highlighted that his father was in the room with him by way of a threat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-claims-he-takes-responsibility-for-afghanistan-while-blaming-trump-afghans-trapped-americans\/\" title=\"Biden Claims He Takes Responsibility For Afghanistan While Blaming Trump, Afghans, Trapped Americans\">commitment made<\/a> has not been fulfilled,\u201d Hunter Biden wrote, further expressing the wish to \u201cresolve this before it got out of hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ufc-fighter-saw-his-future-as-a-fighter-after-taking-psychedelic-mushrooms\/\" title=\"UFC Fighter Saw His Future as a Fighter after Taking Psychedelic Mushrooms\">means tonight<\/a>,\u201d Biden said, warning that if anyone but the Chinese official he was in communication with tried to reach out about the payment disagreement, \u201cI will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biggs said of the message, \u201cThat shows absolute corruption, so we have to follow and track that one down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Arizona congressman is one of several Republicans in the House who has already given his backing to moves to impeach Biden over allegations of corruption.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) said the IRS allegations \u201c[confirm] once again that the agencies that are designed to protect and serve the American people are being weaponized against them.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5201179\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n    <a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/04\/17\/id5201179-Victims-of-Violent-Crime-field-hearing-8340-1200x800.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n    Rep. (Chung I Ho\/The Epoch Times)<br \/>\n  <\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe DOJ and the FBI\u2014at least at the top\u2014have been corrupted, and it\u2019s a serious concern,\u201d said Johnson, referencing the Republicans\u2019 ongoing investigation into the weaponization of the federal government through the House Judiciary Committee. \u201cWhen the people lose their faith in our institutions, our system of justice, there\u2019s no greater threat to a Republic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we have to follow up aggressively. We\u2019ve got to get to the bottom of the truth and and follow that truth where it leads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-Tenn.) agreed.<\/p>\n<p>The allegations show that \u201cthere\u2019s two tiers of justice,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf that had been you, they would have come after you immediately,\u201d Harshbarger told The Epoch Times. \u201cSo it\u2019s just unfathomable that they would protect that man just because h<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whistleblower revelations about Hunter Biden&#8217;s alleged &#8220;preferential treatment&#8221; in a tax crime investigation are being largely ignored by Democrats.
