The incident led to a lockdown of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-investigates-letters-with-white-powder-sent-to-republicans\/\" title=\"FBI probes letters containing white powder sent to GOP members.\">legislative office building\u2019<\/a>s sixth floor, an FBI investigation, and an inspection by a hazmat team, according to a statement from State House speaker Cameron Sexton (R.).<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3>Concerns and Investigations<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Laboratory testing is ongoing but at this time has not indicated a risk to public safety,&#8221; the FBI said in a statement. &#8220;Law enforcement and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/portland-police-deal-with-another-riot-mayor-ted-wheeler-extends-state-of-emergency-in-response-to-unrest\/\" title=\"Portland Police deal with another riot, Mayor Ted Wheeler extends State of Emergency in response to unrest\">public safety officials<\/a> are working to determine how many letters were sent, the individual or individuals responsible for the letters, and the motive behind the letters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A GOP press secretary revealed that the letters, which targeted Republican legislators, were written by a &#8220;liberal activist.&#8221; Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Similar Incidents in Kansas<\/h3>\n<p>In a separate incident less than a week ago, lawmakers in Kansas also received over 100 suspicious letters containing white powder. One of the letters included a chilling message that read &#8220;Don\u2019t choke on your ambition.&#8221; This alarming situation has raised concerns among legislators, particularly those who supported bills related to transgender rights.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Both of those, we overrode the governor\u2019s veto on, and we\u2019ve been told that was an attack on transgender individuals,&#8221; said Kansas state representative Tory Marie Blew (R.). &#8220;And so I think that is where it\u2019s coming from, but I don\u2019t know.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Tennessee governor Bill Lee (R.) took action in April by signing a bill that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alabama-governor-signs-law-banning-biological-males-from-competing-in-girls-high-school-sports\/\" title=\"Alabama Governor Signs Law Banning Biological Males From Competing In Girl\u2019s High School Sports\">bans biological males<\/a> from participating in women\u2019s school sports, further fueling the controversy surrounding these incidents.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tennessee GOP lawmakers got threatening letters containing &#8220;white powder&#8221; on Thursday.
