The missed deadline comes on the heels of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-admin-misses-deadline-to-release-lab-leak-intel\/\" title=\"Biden administration fails to meet lab leak intel release deadline.\">news reports indicating<\/a> that scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, including one funded by the U.S. government, were likely among the first to fall ill with COVID.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/winred.tomcotton.com\/tom-cotton\/defend-scotus-ads-beacon?utm_source=rc&#038;utm_medium=beaconads&#038;utm_campaign=2023maybeaconscotus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/winred.tomcotton.com\/tom-cotton\/defend-scotus-ads-beacon?utm_source=rc&#038;utm_medium=beaconads&#038;utm_campaign=2023maybeaconscotus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The law, called the COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023, requires the White House to release by June 18 any pertinent information regarding the origins of the virus and the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where U.S. taxpayer funding was <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/us-funded-chinese-scientist-fell-ill-amid-covid-outbreak-report\/\">used<\/a> to study novel coronaviruses.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s not a request. It\u2019s not please. It is the law. They have to declassify the information and they have to give a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/latest-poll-majority-of-americans-want-republican-party-to-control-the-senate-sean-hannity\/\" title=\"LATEST POLL: Majority of Americans Want Republican Party to Control the Senate | Sean Hannity\">full report<\/a>,&#8221; Republican senator Josh Hawley (Mo.), who introduced the bill, said. &#8220;What are you afraid of, why are you so afraid of letting the public know the truth.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2023\/03\/20\/statement-by-the-president-on-s-619-the-covid-19-origin-act-of-2023\/\">signed<\/a> the law on March 20, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2023\/03\/20\/statement-by-the-president-on-s-619-the-covid-19-origin-act-of-2023\/\">promising<\/a> his administration &#8220;will declassify and share as much of that information as possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Just days after the deadline passed, a new report <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/us-funded-chinese-scientist-fell-ill-amid-covid-outbreak-report\/\">revealed<\/a> that one of the first people to fall sick with what was likely COVID-19 was a scientist funded by the U.S. government working on coronaviruses.<\/p>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/de-blasio-calls-for-cuomo-to-resign-or-be-impeached\/\" title=\"De Blasio Calls For Cuomo To Resign Or Be Impeached\">report substantiates<\/a> the theory that the pandemic began with a lab leak in Wuhan, China, and that U.S. funding of coronavirus research played a role in developing the novel virus that led to months of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bidens-economy-inflation-hits-highest-levels-since-great-recession-soars-past-economists-expectations\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Under Biden Inflation Has Hit Record Levels Since Great Recession\">government-mandated lockdowns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/winred.tomcotton.com\/tom-cotton\/defend-scotus-ads-beacon?utm_source=rc&#038;utm_medium=beaconads&#038;utm_campaign=2023maybeaconscotus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/winred.tomcotton.com\/tom-cotton\/defend-scotus-ads-beacon?utm_source=rc&#038;utm_medium=beaconads&#038;utm_campaign=2023maybeaconscotus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p data-type=\"paragraph\">Republican senator Marco Rubio (Fla.) concluded last month that the virus&#8217;s likely origin was the Wuhan lab.
