Version: 4.0.47--><h2>The Tragic Story of Suleman Dawood and His Titanic-Bound Submarine<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The aunt of Suleman Dawood, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/aunt-says-19-year-old-nephew-chose-to-go-on-titan-sub-trip-to-bond-with-father\/\" title=\"19-year-old nephew opts for Titan sub trip to connect with father, says aunt.\">youngest passenger aboard<\/a> the Titanic-bound submarine that officials believe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/passengers-aboard-dismantled-titanic-sub-likely-died-in-milliseconds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">imploded<\/a> on Sunday, said that he decided to join the voyage because he hoped to bond with his father over the trip.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Azmeh Dawood, the aunt of 19-year-old Suleman, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/world\/titanic-submersible-shahwood-suleman-family-tragedy-rcna90678\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> NBC News that her nephew had been \u201cterrified\u201d about the trip but decided to join her brother, Shahzada Dawood, on the expedition to spend time with him over the Father\u2019s Day weekend.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI am thinking of Suleman, who is 19, in there, just perhaps gasping for breath \u2026 It\u2019s been crippling, to be honest,\u201d Azmeh told NBC, adding that she was still in \u201cdisbelief\u201d about the whole situation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI feel like I\u2019ve been caught in a really bad film, with a countdown, but you didn\u2019t know what you\u2019re counting down to,\u201d she said. \u201cI personally have found it kind of difficult to breathe thinking of them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Suleman Dawood was \u2018terrified\u2019 of Titan trip but wanted to please his Titanic-obsessed dad, aunt says <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tjTvMoHB12\">https:\/\/t.co\/tjTvMoHB12<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DLtovzyLTc\">pic.twitter.com\/DLtovzyLTc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 New York Post (@nypost) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypost\/status\/1672196973682671616?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 23, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cHe was my baby brother,\u201d Azmeh said of Shahzada. \u201cI held him up when he was born.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other victims onboard the sub included billionaire Hamish Harding, French maritime expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet, and OceanGate CEO and founder Stockton Rush.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to Azmeh, her younger brother had long been fascinated by the story of the Titanic and repeatedly watched the 1958 Titanic drama \u201cA Night to Remember,\u201d growing up. The Titanic sank in 1912 and lies some 12,500 feet below the surface, and about 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland in the Atlantic Ocean.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hussain and Kulsum Dawood, the parents of Shahzada and Azmeh, asked for continued prayers for those lost in the sub.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe immense love and support we receive continues to help us endure this unimaginable loss,\u201d they said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After several days of searching, the Coast Guard confirmed on Thursday that they found debris from the sub which had gone missing on Sunday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger said in a news conference that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/navy-salvages-f-35c-from-south-china-sea-after-january-crash\/\" title=\"Navy Salvages F-35C from South China Sea After January Crash\">remote-operated vehicle<\/a> (ROV) searching the seabed for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/passengers-aboard-doomed-titanic-sub-likely-died-in-milliseconds\/\" title=\"Titanic sub passengers likely died instantly.\">missing submersible found<\/a> the rear cover of the Titan around 1,600 feet from the Titanic\u2019s bow<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0The parts of the submersible found by the Coast Guard led them to rule that the debris discovered is consistent with \u201cthe catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber,\u201d meaning all five aboard the Titan likely died from a massive amount of underwater pressure that killed them instantly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mauger added that it would be difficult to locate the bodies because the debris showed that it imploded due to the intense pressure<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i>Zach Jewell\u00a0contributed to this report.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The aunt of Suleman Dawood, the youngest passenger on the ill-fated Titanic-bound submarine, revealed that he embarked on the journey to strengthen his bond with his father.
