The <a href=\"https:\/\/waysandmeans.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Whistleblower-1-Transcript_Redacted.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transcript<\/a> was <a href=\"https:\/\/waysandmeans.house.gov\/smith-testimony-of-irs-employees-reveals-biden-irs-doj-interfered-in-tax-investigation-of-hunter-biden-revealing-preferential-treatment-for-wealthy-and-politically-connected\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">released<\/a> by the GOP-led House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe investigation into Hunter Biden, code name Sportsman, was first opened in November 2018 as an offshoot of an investigation the IRS was conducting into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-investigation-into-hunter-biden-started-as-probe-into-foreign-pornography-ring\/\" title=\"IRS investigates Hunter Biden for involvement in foreign pornography ring.\">foreign-based amateur online pornography platform<\/a>,\u201d Shapley said.<\/p>\n<p>The pornography website under investigation was not identified in the transcript.<\/p>\n<p>Shapley went on to talk about the laptop found to have a trove of data regarding Biden\u2019s business dealings and personal life \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/website-revealing-over-10000-photos-from-hunter-bidens-laptop-crashes-shortly-after-initial-launch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">including sexually explicit images<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn October 2019, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/fbi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI<\/a> became aware that a repair shop had a laptop allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden and that the laptop might contain evidence of a crime,\u201d Shapley said. \u201cThe FBI verified its authenticity in November of 2019 by matching the device number against Hunter Biden\u2019s Apple iCloud ID.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the FBI took possession of the device in December 2019, they notified the IRS that it likely contained evidence of tax crimes,\u201d Shapley said. \u201cThus, Special Agent drafted an affidavit for a Title 26 search warrant, which a magistrate judge approved that month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shapley, who says he became the supervisor of the case in 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/irs-whistleblower-goes-on-camera-with-hunter-biden-probe-claims\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">came forward publicly last month<\/a> to claim that the Hunter Biden investigation was being mishandled, possibly for political reasons. After his story went public, Shapley claimed his entire team had been abruptly removed from the case at the behest of the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><h3>Latest Developments<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who is leading the inquiry, announced on Tuesday that Biden, 53, agreed to plead guilty to the pair of tax charges and enter a pretrial diversion agreement for the gun violation at a proceeding to be scheduled by a U.S. district court judge.<\/p>\n<p>Although Biden\u2019s attorney Chris Clark said the agreement indicated that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/us-attorney-says-hunter-biden-probe-ongoing-despite-plea-deal\/\" title=\"US Attorney: Hunter Biden Probe Continues Despite Plea Deal\">years-long federal inquiry<\/a> into his client had been \u201cresolved,\u201d Weiss said the investigation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/us-attorney-says-hunter-biden-probe-ongoing-despite-plea-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cis ongoing.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The newly revealed testimony from Shapely and another IRS whistleblower brought to light a number of allegations, including claims that Weiss sought to file other charges last year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/whistleblowers-allege-biden-admin-blocked-prosecutors-from-filing-charges-against-hunter-biden-twice-last-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">but was denied<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The federal probe into Hunter Biden began with an IRS investigation into a foreign porn site, according to a government whistleblower.
