But, in the very same segment, he avouched that there was \u201cno evidence\u201d of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-announces-plan-take-joe-entire-biden-crime-family-upon-regaining-white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden family corruption<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Right.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/federal-charges-against-hunter-biden-2023-06-20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a>, the plea deal involves President Joe Biden\u2019s son pleading guilty to two tax charges and a gun crime, both misdemeanors.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunters-white-privilege-atty-black-rapper-livid-client-spent-years-jail-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">firearms charge<\/a> had to do with the fact Hunter lied on a federal form about whether or not he was addicted to or misusing controlled substances when he purchased a handgun in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>As for the tax charges, the president\u2019s son allegedly declined to pay his fair share on the $1.5 million he made in both 2017 and 2018 \u2014 or any of it, for that matter, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/kellyphillipserb\/2023\/06\/20\/hunter-biden-failed-to-pay-taxes-heres-why-hes-likely-not-going-to-jail\/?sh=3d0a8562b5b4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forbes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To explain the legal matters at hand, Karl appeared on ABC\u2019s daytime chatter-fest, \u201cThe View,\u201d to break it down as only Karl could \u2014 and, naturally, to advance the usual \u201cRepublicans pounce!\u201d narrative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese issues of conflict of interest and playing off his name and the Biden family name will be investigated by Congress, by Republicans in Congress,\u201d Karl said. \u201cThe issue is not going away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut doesn\u2019t this show, Karl, that Biden is not in the pocket of the DOJ?\u201d co-host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/joy-behar-admits-gop-presidential-candidate-lives-head-thinks-lying-bed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joy Behar<\/a> asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt depends on \u2014 so, how do you look at it?\u201d Karl said. \u201cDo you look at it and say, \u2018Look, they prosecuted anyway, his son now has a criminal record\u2019? Yes, that shows, that would seem to show there was no interference. He didn\u2019t pull the plug on the investigation. He didn\u2019t order his attorney general to pull the plug on the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut what Republicans will say is that this didn\u2019t look at the bigger, more serious allegations about whether or not \u2014 I mean, the Republicans had made lots of major allegations against Biden, against President Biden. You know, they call it the Biden crime family. They claim they\u2019ve traded off their name \u2026 that they\u2019ve gotten money from foreign entities illegally? None of that\u2019s been proven.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no evidence of that, but they\u2019re going to continue those investigations and make those allegations,\u201d he continued, noting allegations including Hunter getting a 2.8 karat diamond in the course of \u201chis business dealings in China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Karl insisted that with \u201cRepublicans, there\u2019s no shortage of hypocrisy coming from the Republicans who were willing to give Donald Trump a pass on everything that\u2019s come out, but are, you know, yelling and screaming about Hunter Biden. But that hypocrisy doesn\u2019t mean that there isn\u2019t something fundamentally at issue here with Hunter Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<p>You don\u2019t say, Mr. Karl? Particularly since, as Nicholas Fondacaro of the Media Research Center noted, you seemed to have bragged about how you were mystified that Hunter Biden was on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-reached-joes-secretary-state-pick-burisma-board\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">board of Burisma<\/a> long before everyone else was:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Shortly before claiming \u201cthere\u2019s no evidence\u201d of Hunter or the Biden family trading off their name, Karl bragged about asking questions about Hunter\u2019s employment by Burisma.<br \/>\n\u201c2014, I found it remarkable [Hunter] was getting paid $50,000 a year \u2026 Why did they hire him?\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qnFSnIoLQw\">pic.twitter.com\/qnFSnIoLQw<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NickFondacaro\/status\/1671198180103319552?\">June 20, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI was concerned \u2014 2014, this is almost 10 years ago \u2014 I found it remarkable that the son of the then vice president of the United States was getting paid $50,000 a year by the largest Ukrainian energy company,\u201d Karl said.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s actually $50,000 a <em>month<\/em>, but never mind:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe kept getting that money all the way until 2019, and he had no apparent skills or experience on the questions of energy. And at that point, while Biden was vice president, he wasn\u2019t just vice president, he was the point-person for the Obama administration on Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And now, congressional Republicans have evidence of a convoluted network of foreign entities pumping cash to various members of the Biden family. There are even allegations \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/content-fd-1023-leaks-highly-credible-source-rolled-bidens-conversation-burisma-executive-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Big Guy<\/a>\u201d is involved.<\/p>\n<p>But as far as Karl is concerned, there\u2019s \u201cno evidence\u201d that this was anything more than a wastrel of a son trading off his last name.<\/p>\n<p>The media\u2019s gullibility is what allowed the influence-peddling Hunter and James Biden to fly mostly under the radar during both the Obama administration and the 2020 presidential race.<\/p>\n<p>Now that the president\u2019s son has gotten a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/los-angeles-da-hires-anti-cop-activist-for-top-prosecutor-job\/\" title=\"Los Angeles DA Hires Anti-Cop Activist for Top Prosecutor Job\">sweetheart deal<\/a>, we\u2019re supposed to pretend this was handled fairly and impartially. There\u2019s \u201cno evidence\u201d of wider corruption, despite the president\u2019s lies about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/audio-bidens-leaked-voicemail-hunter-raises-serious-questions-told\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">how much he knew<\/a> regarding Hunter\u2019s business dealings with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/japan-bans-new-entries-of-foreigners-after-virus-variant-arrives\/\" title=\"Japan bans new entries of foreigners after virus variant arrives\">foreign nationals<\/a> and how extensive those dealings were.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing to see here.
