Ron DeSantis Gaining Ground in GOP Presidential Primary Race Against Trump<\/h2>\n<p>Exciting news in the world of politics! According to recent polling, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is <a title=\"DeSantis surging ahead in GOP primary race against Trump.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-gaining-ground-in-gop-primary-matchup-against-trump\/\">steadily gaining ground<\/a> in the GOP presidential primary race against former President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>A recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emerson.edu\/news-events\/emerson-college-today\/emerson-college-polling-society-june-2022-national-poll\">Emerson College poll<\/a> conducted from June 19-20 showed that Trump still maintains a lead over DeSantis, with 59% of the vote compared to DeSantis&#8217;s 21%. However, DeSantis&#8217;s support has significantly increased since the college&#8217;s April poll, where he was at 16%.<\/p>\n<h3>Trump&#8217;s Support Slowly Dwindling<\/h3>\n<p>While Trump remains the GOP front-runner in most polls, his support has slowly dwindled since April. A June CBS News poll showed him holding 62% of the vote, but recent events may have impacted his numbers. Trump is currently facing a criminal indictment out of Manhattan and a federal indictment from the Department of Justice, although he has denied any wrongdoing in both cases.<\/p>\n<p>Other Republican candidates have yet to break into double digits, with former Vice President Mike Pence coming closest at 6% of the vote in the June Emerson College poll.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the past year, the Republican primary has remained statistically unchanged,&#8221; said Spencer Kimball, polling director at Emerson College. &#8220;However, DeSantis has made inroads with women voters over the last few months; Trump led DeSantis among women voters 58% to 17% in April, but now leads 53% to 26% in June, a 14-point improvement for DeSantis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>DeSantis Leading in Battleground States<\/h3>\n<p>But that&#8217;s not all! DeSantis is also leading Trump in some <a title=\"Poll: State Republicans Lead Democrats by Six Points on Generic Ballot\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-state-republicans-lead-democrats-by-six-points-on-generic-ballot\/\">crucial battleground states<\/a>. A poll from Public Opinion Strategies showed the Florida governor defeating President Joe Biden in a matchup, while Trump loses to Biden in Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Arizona.
