Despite not conducting necessary checks or interviews, the FBI proceeded with a full investigation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Based on our investigation, it is not a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-rises-as-he-promises-hes-only-begun-to-fight-put-on-full-armor-of-god-to-fight-the-left\/\" title=\"DeSantis Rises As He Promises He\u2019s \u2018Only Begun To Fight\u2019: \u2018Put On Full Armor Of God\u2019 To Fight The Left\">legitimate basis<\/a> to open a full investigation,&#8221; Durham said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"video_fit_container\">\n\t\t<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"671\" height=\"377\" class=\"video_frame\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0XrrB5raXhQ?wmode=transparent&#038;wmode=opaque\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\t<\/div>\n<p>The FBI&#8217;s failure to consult its own databases or interview Australian diplomats was highlighted in Durham&#8217;s report. The bureau neglected to gather evidence that would have contradicted the claims made against Trump.<\/p>\n<p>During a hearing on Capitol Hill, Durham expressed his concern over the FBI&#8217;s immediate decision to launch a full investigation without proper assessment.<\/p>\n<p>When asked for comment, the FBI referred to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/durham-fbi-shouldnt-have-launched-full-investigation-into-trump-campaign\/\" title=\"Durham: FBI's Trump Campaign Probe Unjustified\">previous statements acknowledging<\/a> the identified &#8220;missteps&#8221; and the implementation of corrective actions.<\/p>\n<p>Durham concluded that the FBI should have initiated a preliminary investigation or assessment instead of a full investigation. This investigation was later expanded to include three other Trump campaign officials.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI justified their swift action by citing Russia&#8217;s potential involvement in the 2016 election and connections to WikiLeaks.
