He had paid the woman $3,000 to fly to Boston, where he picked them up and drove them to his home where the girl said he had sexually assaulted her.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A federal judge has sentenced former CNN television producer John Griffin to 19 years in prison for his involvement in luring a 9-year-old girl into illegal sexual acts in Vermont.  <\/p>\n<p>In 2020, Griffin successfully convinced a woman to travel with her daughter from Nevada to\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Isabella Maria DeLuca (@IsabellaMDeLuca) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IsabellaMDeLuca\/status\/1671496074882629632?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 21, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The mother of the 9-year-old was also charged with child abuse and child sexual assault.<\/p>\n<p>Griffin was indicted by a grand jury in 2021, and arrested a day later. During his hearing, he told Judge William K. Sessions III that he had acted without considering the consequences.<\/p>\n<p>According to the state\u2019s attorney, Griffin had also attempted to entice two other minors into sexual activities using online apps. In April 2020, he had allegedly instructed a mother and her 14-year-old daughter to remove their clothing and touch each other in what he called a \u201cvirtual training session.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, as part of his plea deal, the two additional charges of enticement of a minor were dropped.<\/p>\n<p>When he was arrested, the government seized his Ludlow property as well as his Tesla and Mercedes cars. His wife Allyson Griffin, filed for divorce and for custody of their three children and ownership of their Norwalk mansion, valued at $4.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>David Kirby, Griffin\u2019s attorney, had pleaded for a lighter sentence arguing that his client was going through difficulty in his marriage, along with cocaine and alcohol abuse. <\/p>\n<p>However, Prosecutor Michael Drescher said that \u201cshort of ending a person\u2019s life, it\u2019s hard to imagine a worse offense,\u201d adding that Griffin was a calculated manipulator.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the plea deal, Griffin is forbidden to have contact with anyone under 18 years of age, except in the presence of an adult that is approved by his probation officer. He is also banned from playgrounds, schools, and theme parks along with any area that is frequented by minors unless permitted by his probation officer.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
