Impelled by what appeared to be congressional action in the passage of the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act of the summer of \u201922, the president\u2019s job approval, which had been languishing at 36 percent, rose to 42 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, more and more Americans have learned they were fooled and there was no real economic progress at all.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s job approval began its descent to 40 percent in January, 35 percent in May and 32 percent now (according to <a href=\"https:\/\/s3.documentcloud.org\/documents\/23854152\/cnn-poll-on-trump-after-2nd-indictment.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The sunny summer of \u201922, when Biden peaked, got him through the midterm elections with only limited damage \u2014 no red wave.<\/p>\n<p>As reality set in, his job approval fell rapidly. But his personal favorability or popularity remained higher than his job approval. People liked him even if they disapproved of his performance in office.<\/p>\n<p>Now, however, the revelations of accusations of bribery, the Hunter Biden scandals, the 80-year-old president\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dick-morris-joe-biden-is-becoming-unelectable\/\" title=\"Biden's electability is diminishing, says Dick Morris.\">increasingly evident physical problems<\/a> and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-even-know-year-latest-gaffe-suggests-doesnt-clue\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">obvious mental inability<\/a> to cope with today\u2019s problems are taking their toll on his personal popularity.<\/p>\n<p>In this month\u2019s poll by <a href=\"https:\/\/mclaughlinonline.com\/pols\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/National-Presentation-RELEASE-6-20-2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">McLaughlin and Associates<\/a>, Biden sank to all-time lows in both job approval <i>and<\/i> personal favorability.<\/p>\n<p>A politician can recover from bad job ratings \u2014 he can always do a better job. But once the job disapproval has crept into his personal favorability, it is hard to recover.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s easier to convince people that your job performance has improved than it is to tell them that you have become a better man.<\/p>\n<p>So Biden\u2019s political troubles are mounting to a point where he cannot redeem himself. He is becoming unelectable.<\/p>\n<p>However, in an act that can only be compared to ritual suicide, the Democratic Party remains wed to him. It is not prepared to drop him. Unless something changes, its stubbornness will rank among history\u2019s grossest examples of political stupidity.<\/p>\n<p>Put the last few weeks in perspective. Former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-campaign-releases-ad-new-nickname-desantis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> \u2014 the leading 2024 Republican candidate \u2014 was indicted in two separate jurisdictions and his ratings improved.
