Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has taken a bold step by bringing her articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden as a privileged motion. This move allows her resolution to bypass a similar one introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) last month, fast-tracking the process.<\/p>\n<h3>The Basis for Impeachment: Biden&#8217;s Handling of the Southern Border<\/h3>\n<p>Both Boebert and Greene center their articles of impeachment on Biden&#8217;s handling of the southern border. However, it is worth noting that they have not co-sponsored each other&#8217;s resolutions. They accuse Biden of failing to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sanctuary-city-los-angeles-decries-abbott-for-busing-migrants-from-texas-it-is-abhorrent\/\" title=\"LA, a sanctuary city, condemns Abbott for transporting migrants from Texas, calling it \"abhorrent.\"\">uphold federal immigration law<\/a>, violating his oath to the Constitution, and acting in a manner incompatible with the rule of law. Rep. Gaetz and Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) are original co-sponsors of these articles.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On Tuesday, Boebert notified the House of Representatives of her intent to offer a privileged resolution for the articles of impeachment. According to House rules, the legislation should be voted on within two days, even without the approval of House leadership.<\/p>\n<h3>Why Separate Articles of Impeachment?<\/h3>\n<p>It remains unclear why Boebert and Greene did not file a joint resolution with articles of impeachment. However, it is worth noting that the two congresswomen have had disagreements in the past. Prior to a contentious House speaker vote, they traded jabs, with Boebert alluding to a controversial post made by Greene in 2018. Despite their differences, a spokesperson for Greene has stated that she will support Boebert&#8217;s articles of impeachment against Biden.<\/p>\n<p>In a tweet, Greene emphasized that impeachment is &#8220;the will of our voters&#8221; and urged the GOP to honor that will.
