He also touted Democrats\u2019 gun control wish list, which<strong> passed Congress last year<\/strong>, as\u00a0\u201cthe most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/this-is-going-to-save-a-lot-of-lives-biden-signs-bipartisan-gun-control-bill-into-law\/\" title=\"\u2018This Is Going To Save A Lot Of Lives\u2019: Biden Signs Bipartisan Gun Control Bill Into Law\">meaningful gun safety law<\/a> in 30 years.\u201d <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1495762433\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e8e689a0c79fa0843066145ef642684e fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-e8e689a0c79fa0843066145ef642684e\"><\/div>\n<p>Most notable, aside from the odd <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/20\/joe-biden-is-not-ok\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cGod save the queen\u201d<\/a> conclusion, was Biden\u2019s \u201ccall to action to do more\u201d to infringe on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t see that this was enough, and neither do you,\u201d Biden said, demanding a ban on semiautomatic rifles. <\/p>\n<p>Less than one week later, the Department of Justice levied two misdemeanor tax charges and one felony gun charge against Hunter Biden, the president\u2019s youngest son. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been apparent <a href=\"https:\/\/thefdrlst.wpengine.com\/2021\/03\/25\/report-hunter-biden-may-have-lied-on-federal-background-check-form-to-purchase-a-gun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">since at least 2021<\/a> that Hunter lied about his extensive and public drug use on the Firearms Transaction Record (Form 4473) he filled out during a revolver purchase in 2018. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2bd5c238b0bcc1d15ceb5185dbd17944 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2bd5c238b0bcc1d15ceb5185dbd17944\"><\/div>\n<p>In 2013, then-Vice President Biden joined President Barack Obama in proposing <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/20\/joe-biden-once-recommended-more-prosecutions-for-those-who-lie-on-background-checks-has-he-changed-his-mind\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a gun control plan<\/a> that would force the DOJ to crack down on \u201cpeople who attempt to evade the<br \/>background check system by providing false information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with Biden\u2019s former devotion to \u201cmaximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime,\u201d Hunter\u2019s actions deserve punishment to the fullest extent of the law, which is up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-bidens-wrist-slap-on-gun-tax-crimes-is-a-complete-smokescreen\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden\u2019s Wrist Slap On Gun, Tax Crimes Is A Complete Smokescreen\">carefully orchestrated plea deal<\/a>, however, means the younger Biden will face probation for the misdemeanor tax charges but dodged a prosecutorial bullet and jail time for his felony gun charge. <\/p>\n<p>That is a rare outcome for federal firearm felons. As Federalist Contributor Brett Tolman noted, in 2021 \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/20\/hunter-bidens-charges-are-nothing-but-a-diversion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fewer than 1 percent<\/a> of cases filed by U.S. attorneys in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-bidens-charges-are-nothing-but-a-diversion\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden's charges are merely a distraction.\">federal court resulted<\/a> in the kind of pretrial diversion\u201d Hunter received. In 2022,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ussc.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/pdf\/research-and-publications\/annual-reports-and-sourcebooks\/2022\/2022-Annual-Report-and-Sourcebook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">94.2 percent<\/a>\u00a0of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/if-democrats-really-cared-about-gun-laws-they-would-pull-the-prosecutorial-trigger-on-hunter\/\" title=\"If Dems truly cared about gun laws, they'd prosecute Hunter.\">convicted federal firearm felons served jail time<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Common sense says activists hungry for more gun control should be outraged that the administration is refusing to fully enforce some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/06\/please-let-hunter-biden-help-overturn-our-unjust-and-unconstitutional-gun-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unconstitutional firearm laws<\/a> already on the books. In fact, shortly after news of Hunter\u2019s charges dropped, the president <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/08\/bidens-corruption-is-everything-the-corporate-media-hoped-to-get-out-of-the-trump-administration-so-they-wont-cover-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">doubled down<\/a> on backing his adult child.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe president and first lady love their son and support him as he continues to rebuild his life,\u201d White House spokesman Ian Sams\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/edokeefe\/status\/1671154847369003012?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday after the DOJ\u2019s announcement. <\/p>\n<p>Biden also posted a video to Twitter featuring gun control diehard Sen. Keane, National Shooting Sports Foundation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-confirms-kathleen-hicks-as-deputy-defense-secretary\/\" title=\"Senate Confirms Kathleen Hicks as Deputy Defense Secretary\">senior vice president<\/a> and general counsel, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nssf.org\/articles\/nssf-criticizes-doj-deal-for-hunter-bidens-gun-crimes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement. \u201cThey are not serious about reducing gun violence, only scoring cheap political points.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democrats\u2019 incessant attempts to strip Americans of their constitutional rights already<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/04\/21\/louisville-shooter-killed-five-to-get-firearms-banned-and-democrats-are-happy-to-oblige\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> lack credibility<\/a>.
