I trust him,\u201d Biden told host Stephanie Ruhle in one of his few sit-down interviews since being sworn into office. \u201cI have faith in him and it impacts my presidency by making me feel proud of him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Washington Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2023\/06\/20\/hunter-biden-plea-deal\/\">reported<\/a> Tuesday that the 53-year-old son of the president will plead guilty to two tax crimes and admit to the facts of a gun charge in a deal negotiated with Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss. The deal means Biden will plead guilty to misdemeanors for failing to pay about $100,000 in taxes for 2017 and for failing to pay a similar amount for 2018. He is not expected to face any jail time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sources <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">told<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> the Post that prosecutors will recommend two years of probation for Biden, and he will enter a diversion program upon admitting the illegal purchase of a firearm in 2018, meaning he will not technically be pleading guilty to the gun charge. The gun charge could be revoked from his record upon completion of the diversion program, according to the Post.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The president <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TocRadio\/status\/1671251112773427200?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> Tuesday afternoon that he remains \u201cvery proud of [his] son\u201d when asked about Hunter Biden\u2019s plea deal. Following reports of the deal, the White House counsel\u2019s office released a <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/4058299-white-house-biden-first-lady-support-son-hunter-after-federal-charges-revealed\/\">statement<\/a>, saying, \u201cThe President and First Lady love their son and support him as he continues to rebuild his life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Republicans, including former President Donald Trump, were <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/a-mere-traffic-ticket-trump-slams-doj-for-hunter-biden-plea-deal\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">enraged<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> after hearing that Hunter Biden would be getting off with \u201ca <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-plea-desantis-slams-sweetheart-deal-as-double-standard\/\" title=\"DeSantis criticizes Hunter Biden's plea as unfair.\">mere traffic ticket<\/a>,\u201d arguing that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/flashback-joe-biden-said-hunter-did-nothing-wrong-weeks-before-sons-guilty-plea\/\" title=\"Joe Biden defended his son, Hunter, stating he did nothing wrong, just weeks before Hunter's guilty plea.\">plea deal proves<\/a> the U.S. is being guided by a \u201ctwo-tiered system of justice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWow!
