The Ashcroft Memo requires they charge the \u2018highest provable offense\u2019 and seek consistent sentences with other cases brought by DOJ. This prosecution is an absolute laughable joke. That\u2019s not going to sit well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said the deal will not change House Republicans\u2019 effort to dig up the facts about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/10-million-mystery-dollars-found-bidens-2017-tax-returns-republicans-demand-answers-amid-bribery-allegations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden family\u2019s finances<\/a>, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/kevin-mccarthy-has-plan-hunter-bidens-plea-deal-1807942\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsweek<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt continues to show a two-tiered system in America. If you are the president\u2019s leading political opponent [Donald Trump], the DOJ tries to literally put you in jail and give you prison. If you are the president\u2019s son, you get a sweetheart deal,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, this does nothing to our investigation. It actually should enhance our investigation because the DOJ should not be able to withhold any information now, saying that it is pending investigation.
