Wade Overturn<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Pro-life advocates held a virtual press conference Tuesday celebrating the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court\u2019s overturning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/roe-v-wade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/a>, a decision seven <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pro-life-activists-celebrate-one-year-anniversary-without-roe-v-wade\/\" title=\"Pro-Life Activists Mark One Year Without Roe v. Wade\">male judges made 50 years ago<\/a> that resulted in the deaths of more than 63 million unborn children.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Opening Up Democracy for the Protection of Children<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cSusan B Anthony Pro-Life America has been working very hard and very long to open up democracy in this country to allow the people to speak through their elected representatives and pass legislation that will protect the children of this country in the greatest human rights calls of our time,\u201d Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA), said.<\/p>\n<p>Dannenfelser joined political strategist Kellyanne Conway and dozens of female lawmakers nationwide who led the charge in implementing pro-life legislation in their states.<\/p>\n<h3>A Monumental Repeal and a New Abortion Landscape<\/h3>\n<p>On June 24, 2022, the nation\u2019s highest court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/united-states-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade-leaves-abortion-restrictions-to-states\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">repealed<\/a> the monumental <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> case that legalized abortion across America and ruled 6-3 in <em>Dobbs v.s. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization<\/em>. An early leak of a draft opinion indicating which way the judges would rule prompted nationwide protests and dozens of attacks and vandalism of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/psaki-refuses-to-guarantee-that-taxpayer-money-in-stimulus-bill-wont-go-toward-abortions\/\" title=\"Psaki Refuses To Guarantee That Taxpayer Money In Stimulus Bill Won\u2019t Go Toward Abortions\">pro-life organizations<\/a>, centers, and churches.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Samuel Alito wrote that <em>Roe<\/em> and a subsequent case, <em>Planned Parenthood v. Casey<\/em>, which upheld <em>Roe<\/em>, both must be overturned, and the right to allow, deny, or restrict the right to an abortion must reside with states.<\/p>\n<p>The decision fundamentally changed the abortion landscape across the nation.<\/p>\n<h3>Protecting Life and Supporting Mothers<\/h3>\n<p>In the following months, nearly half of the nation in Republican-led states passed laws protecting life between conception and 12 weeks, and pregnancy centers and maternity homes supporting mother and child outnumber Planned Parenthood facilities 14 to one, <a href=\"https:\/\/sbaprolife.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/23.6.9-Dobbs-anniv-media-fact-sheet-1-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-perfect-ranking-from-planned-parenthood-5-what-to-find-out-about-biden-hhs-nominees-abortion-record\/\" title=\"\u2018A Perfect Ranking From Planned Parenthood\u2019: 5 WHAT TO FIND OUT ABOUT Biden HHS Nominee\u2019s Abortion Record\">pro-life organization<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pregnancy center leaders and recipients of such services shared their experiences over the last year.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kathleen Wilson, executive director of the faith-based pregnancy crisis center Mary\u2019s Shelter in Fredricksburg, Virginia, said in the aftermath of <em>Roe<\/em>, the organization doubled in locations after witnessing an uptick in calls from women seeking counseling during pregnancy. According to Wilson, the organization added three new homes for its resources in the last 12 months.<\/li>\n<li>Sylvia Johnson, chief executive officer of the Houston Pregnancy Help Center in Texas, said after the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision, she hoped minority communities \u2014 specifically the black community \u2014 would understand the racism attached to the abortion industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Johnson, who said she has been serving 30 years in the \u201cshadows\u201d of the largest Planned Parenthood in the United States located in a minority community, said upon celebrating the Supreme Court\u2019s decision, three white women were outside the facility blocking others from entering the pregnancy center.<\/p>\n<p>The National Right to Life Center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrlc.org\/outreach\/bal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">estimated<\/a> by the end of 2021 that nearly 40% of women who seek abortions are African American, making the practice the leading cause of death in the community.<\/p>\n<p>Dannenfelser quoted Alice Paul\u2019s words \u2014 the original author of the Equal Rights Amendment \u2014 saying abortion is \u201cthe ultimate exploitation of women.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>A Complex Issue and the Call for Action<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cSo what I hope that we can come out of this conversation today and the week where we in a pro-life, but celebrate the overturn of <em>Roe vs. Wade<\/em>, the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision, a new culture of life where we\u2019re ushering in hope and positive choices and ending those cycles that are hurtful to women,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Conway, who served as senior counselor to former President Donald Trump, urged presidential and congressional candidates to take a firm stance on abortion moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is that issue that melds together gender, law, politics, government \u2014 at the state, local and federal level \u2014 certainly science and medicine, religion and morality,\u201d Conway said. \u201cSo from the beginning, we must acknowledge that it is a very complex issue being tackled by very complex people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Conway and the pro-life organization also suggested candidates seeking the Republican nomination to support a federal ban on abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pro-life advocates marked the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court&#8217;s reversal of Roe v.
