The survey revealed that only 33% of respondents had a favorable opinion of Trump, while a majority of 59% viewed him unfavorably. The remaining 8% of adults stated that they had no opinion of the former president.<\/p>\n<h3>Trump&#8217;s Support Among Republicans<\/h3>\n<p>Despite the decline in his overall popularity, Trump still maintains a strong following among registered Republicans and Republican-leaning voters. The poll showed that 47% of these voters expressed their support for Trump when compared to other potential candidates for the 2024 GOP presidential election. Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) came in second place with a 26% approval rating. The rest of the candidates received single-digit approval ratings, as indicated by the survey results. It is worth noting that the first GOP presidential debate is scheduled for August 23, just nine days after Trump&#8217;s first court date for his classified documents trial.<\/p>\n<h3>Opinions on Trump&#8217;s Conduct<\/h3>\n<p>The poll also revealed a nearly equal division among respondents regarding their opinions on Trump&#8217;s conduct. Fifty-four percent of those surveyed believed that his behavior did not matter as long as he was an effective leader. On the other hand, 46% of respondents valued character over effectiveness and believed that Trump&#8217;s behavior did matter in the long run.<\/p>\n<p>The survey was conducted from June 13 to June 17 and included 1,350 respondents.
