The deal means Biden will plead guilty to misdemeanors for failing to pay about $1.2 million in taxes in 2017 and 2018. He is not expected to face any jail time, leading Trump to lash out at the Biden administration for seemingly giving the president\u2019s son a slap on the wrist.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWow! The corrupt Biden DOJ just cleared up hundreds of years of criminal liability by giving Hunter Biden a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-mere-traffic-ticket-trump-slams-doj-for-hunter-biden-plea-deal\/\" title=\"Trump criticizes DOJ for lenient Hunter Biden plea deal, calls it a minor traffic ticket.\">mere traffic ticket<\/a>,\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/110576886163364876\">said<\/a> on Truth Social. \u201cOur system is BROKEN!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sources told The Washington Post that prosecutors will recommend two years of probation for Biden, and he will enter a diversion program upon admitting the illegal purchase of a firearm in 2018, meaning he will not technically be pleading guilty to the gun charge. The gun charge could be revoked from his record upon completion of the diversion program, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national-security\/2023\/06\/20\/hunter-biden-plea-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to the Post.<\/p>\n<p>The reported deal closes a nearly five-year investigation into Biden, who is also facing inquiries along with his father from House Republicans regarding an alleged $5 million bribery scheme involving Ukraine. The plea deal is not connected to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-raids-detroit-city-hall-council-members-homes-in-light-of-corruption-probe\/\" title=\"FBI raids Detroit City Hall, council members\u2019 homes in light of corruption probe\">alleged bribery scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Sen. Josh Hawley Agrees with Trump<\/h3>\n<p>Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) agreed with Trump that Biden\u2019s plea deal shows the U.S. justice system is broken.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSo Hunter Biden gets a special plea deal, slap on the wrist \u2013 probably won\u2019t do a day of time \u2013 while DOJ charges Trump as a spy and tries to put him in prison forever. Two standards of \u2018justice,\u2019\u201d Hawley <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HawleyMO\/status\/1671168773154570242\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Trump remains defiant against Biden\u2019s DOJ as he is at the center of a federal investigation into his handling of classified documents.
