For full details, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/tW4KeGe9uJ\">https:\/\/t.co\/tW4KeGe9uJ<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/JnOYzHnSSe\">pic.twitter.com\/JnOYzHnSSe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 National Hurricane Center (@NHC_Atlantic) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NHC_Atlantic\/status\/1670765229800841218?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 19, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/en\/hurricane\/brewing-tropical-rainstorm-sailing-westward-across-the-atlantic\/1543896\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forecasters with AccuWeather<\/a> predicted that the system could become a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tropical-storm-claudette-floods-parts-of-gulf-coast\/\" title=\"Tropical storm Claudette floods parts of Gulf Coast\">tropical storm<\/a> by Tuesday morning and later a hurricane, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/first-atlantic-hurricane-of-2023-season-expected-high-uncertainty-in-forecast\/\" title=\"First hurricane of 2023 season expected, forecast uncertain.\">requires sustained maximum winds<\/a> of at least 74 miles per hour, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/aboutsshws.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><h3>Development and Naming<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>As of mid-Monday, the storm\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-england-areas-under-flood-watches-as-tropical-storm-elsa-continues-moving-northeast\/\" title=\"New England areas under flood watches as Tropical Storm Elsa continues moving northeast\">maximum sustained winds<\/a> were being clocked at around 35 mph with higher wind gusts, and considering the expectation for some strengthening, the \u201cdepression is forecast to become a hurricane in a few days,\u201d NHC said.<\/p>\n<p>The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced last month that this year\u2019s Atlantic hurricane season, stretching from June 1 to November 30, was expected to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/news-release\/2023-atlantic-hurricane-season-outlook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">near-normal activity<\/a> with 12-17 named storms and five-nine of them strengthening to hurricane status.<\/p>\n<p>Tropical Depression Three is destined to receive the name \u201cBret\u201d after Tropical Storm Arlene formed in the Gulf of Mexico earlier this month and quickly dissipated.<\/p>\n<p><h3>Preparation and Uncertainty<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>The National Weather Service station in Miami <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NWSMiami\/status\/1670810924628967425\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> on Monday there is no current threat to southern Florida at the moment, but urged people to take this time to prepare for the hurricane season. NHC forecasters said a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&#038;fdays=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">second disturbance<\/a> also has a chance of tropical cyclone formation in the next 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p>James Spann, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/life\/2019\/07\/the-james-spann-you-never-knew.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">popular meteorologist in Alabama<\/a>, said that it is premature to determine whether the United States will be affected by what may become Hurricane Bret.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">TD3 forms in the Atlantic; it should become Tropical Storm Bret soon.
