In this meeting, employees were informed that they should not approach the aircraft until the engine and beacon light was turned off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After the flight arrived, the pilot was alerted that the front cargo door was being unlocked as he started to shut down the right engine. Footage then showed Edwards walking towards the plane with an orange safety cone. In the video, Edwards suddenly disappears and it was clear what had happened.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The co-pilot reported that the plane then \u201cshook violently, followed by the immediate automatic shutdown.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/courtney-edwards?member=24220709&#038;sharetype=teams&#038;utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&#038;utm_medium=sms&#038;utm_source=customer\" target=\"_blank\"> GoFundMe<\/a> was started to help Edwards\u2019 three children. The donations have risen to more than $120,000, which is more than four times its initial goal of $25,000.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>After the event, American Airlines released a statement saying, \u201cWe are devastated by the accident involving a team member of Piedmont Airlines, an American Airlines regional carrier, at Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur thoughts and prayers are with the family and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dog-stops-trailing-brian-laundrie-bounty-hunters-daughter-bait-it-set\/\" title=\"\u2018Dog\u2019 Stops Trailing Brian Laundrie; Bounty Hunter\u2019s Daughter: \u2018Bait It Set\u2019\">local team members<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are focused on ensuring that all involved have the support they need during this difficult time,\u201d the company stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A statement was released by Edwards\u2019 union, the Communication Workers of America, saying that Osha found the airline at fault for \u201clack of effective training, clear and unambiguous communication on the ramp, and clear instructions from supervisors as to when it is safe to approach an aircraft.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
