The university defended the event, stating that it aligns with their commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Berkeley&#8217;s Black Graduation serves as a celebration of our Black students&#8217; achievements, their resilience, and the rich cultural heritage they bring to our community,&#8221; the school said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Will Trachman, the general counsel for MSLF, expressed his concerns about the exclusivity of the event. He stated, &#8220;Both the title of the event and all the materials and speakers at the event are talking exclusively to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/elite-private-school-students-anonymously-accused-school-officials-of-racism-the-school-caved\/\" title=\"Elite Private School Students Anonymously Accused School Officials Of Racism. The School Caved.\">black students<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A report by the National Association of Scholars (NAS) found that 125 colleges have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/legal-group-files-complaint-against-university-of-california-berkeley-over-segregated-graduation\/\" title=\"Legal group files complaint against UC Berkeley over segregated graduation.\">conducting segregated graduation ceremonies<\/a> in the name of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-has-signed-40-executive-orders-and-actions-since-taking-office\/\" title=\"Biden has signed 40 executive orders and actions since taking office\">racial justice<\/a>. The Trump administration issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.ed.gov\/about\/offices\/list\/ocr\/docs\/ocr-tvi-webinar-reptvi.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">webinar guidance<\/a> reminding educators that segregation in school settings is unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>However, President Joe Biden rescinded the directive with executive order <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/20\/executive-order-advancing-racial-equity-and-support-for-underserved-communities-through-the-federal-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">13895<\/a>, titled &#8220;On Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, Trachman remains optimistic about the complaint filed against Berkeley, believing that even the Biden administration will have to pay attention to it.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Tristan Justice is the western correspondent for The Federalist and the author of Social Justice Redux, a conservative newsletter on culture, health, and wellness.
