These organizations were recently labeled as &#8220;extremist&#8221; by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and placed on a &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/southern-poverty-law-center-is-racist-employees-say\/\" title=\"Southern Poverty Law Center Is Racist, Employees Say\">hate map<\/a>&#8221; alongside Ku Klux Klan chapters.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution, introduced by Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) on June 15, makes it clear that it is not extreme or hateful to believe that parents should have the final say in their children&#8217;s education, rather than the government.<\/p>\n<p>The SPLC added Moms for Liberty, Parents Defending Education, Army of Parents, No Left Turn in Education, and other groups to their map of supposed &#8220;hate&#8221; organizations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is abhorrent that a group like the Southern Poverty Law Center can include a benevolent, freedom-loving organization like Moms for Liberty on their so-called &#8216;hate map&#8217; simply because they defend parents&#8217; rights in their child&#8217;s education,&#8221; McClain stated.<\/p>\n<p>She continued, &#8220;I am disgusted and outraged that the radical Left is getting away with actions like these, and I believe it is time for Congress to stand up and reaffirm the dignity of education and expel the woke nonsense that has taken over America&#8217;s classrooms.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>The Resolution&#8217;s Purpose<\/h2>\n<p>The resolution aims to push back against the labeling of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/opinion-on-crt-defund-the-police-and-remote-learning-democrats-know-their-policies-are-unpopular\/\" title=\"OPINION: On CRT, \u2018Defund The Police,\u2019 And Remote Learning, Democrats Know Their Policies Are Unpopular\">parental efforts<\/a> to ensure age-appropriate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/illinois-might-mandate-teachers-to-embrace-progressive-viewpoints\/\" title=\"Illinois Might Mandate Teachers To \u2018Embrace\u2019 Progressive Viewpoints\">school curriculum<\/a> and protect sex-specific sports teams as being &#8220;extreme.&#8221; It emphasizes the importance of creating a welcoming environment for all students, while also asserting that radical far-left ideas inappropriate for minors should not be included.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution also argues that it is not extreme or hateful to believe that discussions about sexual orientation or gender ideology should not be introduced to children as young as 6, that biological men should not compete against biological women in sports, and that courses centered around the belief that America is systemically racist should not be taught.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution has garnered support from six Republican co-sponsors, including Reps. Brian Babin and Keith Self of Texas, Jeff Duncan of South Carolina, Daniel Webster of Florida, Mary Miller of Illinois, and Clay Higgins of Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p>The SPLC&#8217;s report, released on June 6, accuses &#8220;parents&#8217; rights&#8221; groups of attacking schools under the guise of defending their rights.
