Congress Demands Answers<\/h2>\n<p>Something on the mind of every conservative in America is the question of why the Internal Revenue Service thinks it needs a military arsenal and millions of rounds of ammunition, and in the wake of a shocking armed raid the IRS just perpetrated in Montana, members of Congress are also asking those questions.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the IRS, along with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-atf-director-admits-not-expert-firearms-tobacco-explosives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ATF<\/a> and others, suited up nearly two dozen heavily-armed agents dressed in bulletproof vests and tactical gear to raid Highwood Creek Outfitters in Great Falls, Montana, just as the owner pulled into the parking lot open for business for the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt 7:30, I came in and they pulled in behind me with 20 heavily armed agents,\u201d gun store owner Tom Van Hoose told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.krtv.com\/news\/great-falls-news\/great-falls-gun-shop-re-opens-after-a-visit-from-federal-agents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KRTV<\/a> after the raid concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The owner had no explanation for the raid other than his inventory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can only assume that it\u2019s because of the style of weapons that we have and the press that\u2019s so against them,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/heavily-armed-agents-irs-atf-swoop-local-gun-shop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the media.<\/p>\n<p>Van Hoose does a brisk business in AR-15 and AK-47 semi-automatic rifles, KRTV added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe current administration seems to be hell bent on getting those guns out of the hands of average Americans,\u201d the gun shop owner added.<\/p>\n<p>Van Hoose added that he only made a $16 sale all day that day.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the raid by heavily-armed IRS agents, Montana Rep. Matt Rosendale was \u201cincredibly disturbed\u201d that Joe Biden\u2019s IRS was used in such a manner.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">We cannot allow Biden to continue expanding these agencies to infringe on our liberties.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Matt Rosendale (@RepRosendale) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepRosendale\/status\/1669124247002796034?\">June 14, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m incredibly disturbed by initial reports that the IRS and ATF closed Highwood Creek Outfitters without any warning today,\u201d Rosendale said in a prepared <a href=\"https:\/\/rosendale.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=591\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a>. \u201cThis is yet another example of the Biden Administration weaponizing federal agencies to target and harass hardworking Americans. We cannot allow Biden to continue expanding these agencies to infringe on our liberties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/weaponize-irs-gaetz-raises-concerns-massive-irs-munitions-stockpile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sought answers<\/a> from the IRS, specifically on why the agency needs literally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/robertwood\/2019\/01\/14\/irs-has-4500-guns-5-million-rounds-ammunition-paying-taxes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">millions of rounds<\/a> of ammo, military-styled weapons, body armor, and even tactical vehicles in its arsenal.<\/p>\n<p>Rosendale added that the raid in Montana is not the only such incident and that the ATF perpetrated a similar raid on a gun store in Georgia. Several members of Congress wanted answers over that incident, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5atlanta.com\/news\/members-of-congress-confront-atf-at-georgia-gun-store\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WAGA-TV<\/a>\u00a0reported on March 27.<\/p>\n<p>The Montana congressman added that the records that the IRS confiscated should have nothing to do with their job of collecting taxes. As it happens, the IRS absconded with all the store\u2019s background check forms. While these forms contain sensitive information on gun buyers, one thing they don\u2019t contain is financial information, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/highwood-creek-outfitters-atf-irs-gunshop-raid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Blaze<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no circumstance in which 4473\u2019s [background check documents] would be necessary in an investigation spearheaded by the IRS,\u201d Rosendale said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=735113891950056&#038;set=pcb.735114075283371\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a letter he sent<\/a> to ATF Director Steven Dettelbach and IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/joe-biden-suggests-hunter-biden-committed-crime-land-10-years-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">False answers<\/a> on such paperwork are supposed to be a criminal act, of course, but how the IRS has figured into that chain of information is a mystery.<\/p>\n<p>The congressman went on to demand that the IRS \u201ccease conducting these Soviet-style intimidation raids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven the positions of the Biden Administration, this raid appears to be an attempt to intimidate firearms dealers and owners,\u201d Rosendale said in the letter, adding, \u201cThis pattern [of intimidation and harassment] appears to be orchestrated directly from the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe weaponization of our government must be STOPPED, which is why I sent a letter to ATF Director Dettelbach and IRS Commissioner Werfel demanding answers about this outrageous attack, and have used every tool available to me to remove funding for the 87,000 additional IRS agents!\u201d Rosendale added in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RepRosendale\/posts\/pfbid02CavNtVw9KqZwzppmNJ1QpRC1ohrgBTwDiZa4RB1US8ZqTZdyg9TeN7XYUzGdgLfUl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Neither the ATF nor the IRS would tell either Van Hoose or the press why they conducted these military-style raids on the gun shop.<\/p>\n<p>The only thing the gun shop owner knows is that his business had been \u201creported,\u201d but he doesn\u2019t know why or by whom.<\/p>\n<p>The feds also do not involve local law enforcement in many of these raids. Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter told reporter Tim McGonigal that there are no laws or agency procedures where local sheriffs or police are informed about such raids. But while Slaughter\u2019s office was not informed, the Great Falls Police Dept. was given notice of the raid.<\/p>\n<p>Make no mistake, America. This is exactly why Biden and the Democrats wanted 87,000 new IRS agents. They wanted them so that they can send militarized shock troops to intimidate small business owners and average everyday Americans.
