Since that can <em>never<\/em> be inappropriate to the left, definitionally, taking books like the infamous <strong>&#8220;Gender Queer&#8221;<\/strong> out of schools is <strong>&#8220;paper genocide.&#8221;<\/strong> Now, of course, if these terms were taken literally, this would mean that various forms of paper were being systematically exterminated by conservatives because they traced their ethnic lineage to trees.<\/p>\n<p>This, of course, is not what she meant. But since <strong>&#8220;genocide&#8221;<\/strong> invokes images like the Holocaust, Rwanda, and Xinjiang Province, it&#8217;s all good.<\/p>\n<h2>The Origin of &#8220;Paper Genocide&#8221; on The View<\/h2>\n<p>The term popped up during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gutfeld-shreds-80-year-old-white-hag-joy-behar-host-took-shots-black-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joy Behar&#8217;s<\/a> <strong>&#8220;Banned Book Club,&#8221;<\/strong> essentially a Ron DeSantis hate-segment in which books that are supposedly <strong>&#8220;banned&#8221;<\/strong> from libraries are featured. Never mind that, as conservative media watchdog <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/nicholas-fondacaro\/2023\/06\/16\/torching-words-view-worries-about-paper-genocide-against\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsbusters<\/a> pointed out, <strong>&#8220;banned&#8221;<\/strong> is a relative term; a previous book club pick, it turned out, was only moved from the elementary school library to the middle school library in a single school district.<\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s how <strong>&#8220;paper genocide&#8221;<\/strong> starts. First, you begin offering books to appropriate age groups <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mental-rape-preacher-torches-school-board-reading-disturbing-book-allowed-district\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">inside public school libraries<\/a>. The next thing you know, it&#8217;s a full-on Nuremberg-style book-burning outside city hall.<\/p>\n<h2>The Fight Against &#8220;Paper Genocide&#8221;<\/h2>\n<p>This week&#8217;s selection was <strong>&#8220;Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag.&#8221;<\/strong> Without citing statistics, Behar said the book about the assassinated gay rights activist and the origins of the pride flag <strong>&#8220;was one of the most banned picture books last year. They&#8217;re so uptight about these books it&#8217;s unbelievable.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;I read this book,&#8221;<\/strong> Behar said. <strong>&#8220;It&#8217;s charming. It&#8217;s about Harvey Milk and how the whole thing came about. I think kids would like it too. It&#8217;s a children&#8217;s book.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So, right at her reading level.<\/p>\n<p>Co-host Ana Navarro said she was <strong>&#8220;going to take them to Florida and give them away for free&#8221;<\/strong> \u2014 which, when you can give something away for free, it&#8217;s definitionally not banned. And if she gave it to a library in the Sunshine State where students were third-grade or under, it would fall afoul of the Parental Rights in Education Act \u2014 the so-called <strong>&#8220;Don&#8217;t Say Gay&#8221;<\/strong> bill \u2014 which means they couldn&#8217;t accept it. But this <strong>&#8220;The View&#8221;<\/strong> and that kind of reflection doesn&#8217;t happen too often.<\/p>\n<p>However, Navarro&#8217;s idea was the catalyst for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fox-news-hannity-hosting-trump-rival-following-45s-prime-time-event\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hostin&#8217;s<\/a> idea on how to fight <strong>&#8220;paper genocide.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;That&#8217;s a great idea. There are mothers who \u2014 I think Ana really touched on something,&#8221;<\/strong> Hostin said. <strong>&#8220;There are mothers&#8217; groups where I live and they&#8217;re picking up banned books and giving them back to schools, giving them back to libraries. And there are mobile little libraries filled with banned books.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;And I think maybe that&#8217;s the only way that we can stop this paper genocide that we&#8217;re seeing of our history,&#8221;<\/strong> Hostin continued. <strong>&#8220;We need to insist that we get these books back out there.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Opposition to anything liberal is now <strong>&#8220;genocide.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\nRacist Sunny Hostin touts mom handing out <strong>&#8220;banned books&#8221;<\/strong> (that means they&#8217;re not <strong>&#8220;banned&#8221;<\/strong>) and says they fight back against <strong>&#8220;paper genocide.&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8220;Maybe that&#8217;s the only way to stop this paper genocide we&#8217;re seeing of our history.&#8221;<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rm6FleGtav\">pic.twitter.com\/rm6FleGtav<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nicholas Fondacaro (@NickFondacaro) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NickFondacaro\/status\/1669729963233214464?\">June 16, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Again, let me please remind people: If you can give a book to a library as a way to skirt Florida&#8217;s crackdown on LGBT porn, <strong>it is not banned.<\/strong> There is no <strong>&#8220;paper genocide&#8221;<\/strong> \u2014 aside from killing trees for <strong>&#8220;Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag,&#8221;<\/strong> a book which one assumes contains information shallow enough where your kid could just Wikipedia the subjects and save some softwood coniferous trees.<\/p>\n<p>The full segment \u2014 which also includes talk about the flag-code violating pride month event at the White House, while assiduously avoiding discussion of the topless transgender <strong>&#8220;influencers&#8221;<\/strong> invited to the event on the South Lawn \u2014 can be seen here:<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<p>Now, just so we&#8217;re clear: The vast majority of these <strong>&#8220;banned&#8221;<\/strong> books are not Harvey Milk biographies or poetry collections that may not be appropriate for elementary school children. Consider the community context note when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/twitter-note-reveals-really-sick-book-chelsea-clinton-wants-children-read\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chelsea Clinton<\/a> also tried to defend the infamous <strong>&#8220;Gender Queer,&#8221;<\/strong> the book libs seem most outraged that conservative districts and states are taking out of school libraries, on Twitter:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Over 50% of the attempted book bans last year involved books with LGBTQ+ characters &#038; themes. Books are a vital way that children, adolescents and adults learn about themselves and our world. Bans such as these are nothing but harmful: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eblRSU7tZk\">https:\/\/t.co\/eblRSU7tZk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChelseaClinton\/status\/1651685293731246098?\">April 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Yes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/elementary-school-promotes-book-featuring-successful-transgender-surgery-cover\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the tome<\/a> contains <strong>&#8220;visual depictions of oral sex, masturbation and adult sexual contact with a minor.&#8221;<\/strong> And if you don&#8217;t agree that your child can check that out from his middle-school library, you&#8217;re involved in <strong>&#8220;paper genocide.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is, of course, rubbish; if you stood outside a school and started handing out pornography to random students, you&#8217;d be arrested, and rightly so. But it&#8217;s dangerous rubbish because the left is insisting that if you don&#8217;t allow your child to be indoctrinated and sexualized by educators, you&#8217;re an extremist. You&#8217;re the problem. It&#8217;s not the graphic LGBT porn in your child&#8217;s school, it&#8217;s the fact you have an issue with it.<\/p>\n<p>Relax, fanatic. Behar, Navarro, Hostin, and Co. say they&#8217;ve won this battle. And if you keep resisting, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/view-host-sunny-hostin-reveals-biden-major-trouble-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sunny Hostin<\/a> might be forced to come up with an even nastier term for you.
