In addition to leftist billionaires <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/10\/12\/the-2020-election-wasnt-stolen-it-was-bought-by-mark-zuckerberg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pouring hundreds of millions of dollars<\/a> into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-zuckerberg-broke-law-with-dropboxes\/\" title=\"Trump: Zuckerberg 'Broke Law' with Dropboxes\">local election offices<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/inside-democrats-newest-election-takeover-scheme-report-unmasks-dark-money-group-youve-probably-never-heard-of\/\" title=\"Inside Democrats\u2019 Newest Election Takeover Scheme: Report Unmasks \u2018Dark Money\u2019 Group You\u2019ve Probably Never Heard Of\">alter election operations<\/a>, the contest was marred by Democrat-backed groups\u2019 orchestrated legal campaign to change state election laws in their favor.<\/p>\n<p>Regime-approved media were even running stories months before the election forecasting such a strategy. In February 2020, for instance, Politico ran an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2020\/02\/06\/democrats-voting-rights-2020-111716\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a> detailing how \u201ca constellation of left-leaning groups\u201d were \u201cspending millions of dollars\u201d to launch \u201can avalanche of voting-rights lawsuits against state laws they say suppress participation in elections.\u201d The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/groups\/public_interest\/election_law\/litigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuits<\/a> were widespread in nature, targeting provisions related to voter ID requirements, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-denies-michigan-secretary-of-states-motion-to-dismiss-lawsuit-removing-26000-dead-registrants-from-voter-rolls\/\" title=\"Judge Denies Michigan Secretary of State\u2019s Motion To Dismiss Lawsuit Removing 26,000 Dead Registrants From Voter Rolls\">voter-roll maintenance<\/a>, ballot signature verification, and more. Whether it <a href=\"https:\/\/electionlawblog.org\/?p=127427\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">was<\/a> Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania, or Michigan, states all over the country were barraged with Democrats\u2019 legal blitz.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1218892030\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-cb3f670c09392edbbeba5810ef9b39eb fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-cb3f670c09392edbbeba5810ef9b39eb\"><\/div>\n<h2>Protecting Election Integrity for 2024<\/h2>\n<p>In order to prevent similar chicanery from continuing in future electoral contests, an election integrity group known as Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections (RITE) is launching its counterstrategy ahead of the 2024 election. While speaking with The Federalist, RITE President Derek Lyons described how his organization is employing a three-pronged game plan to halt the left\u2019s legal jihad, the first of which involves protecting existing statutes to ensure states have \u201cthe best election[s]\u201d possible.<\/p>\n<p>Their goal is to <strong>protect the integrity of the ballot box from delusion, mismanagement, errors, [and] fraud<\/strong>, Lyons said. They also want to make sure election integrity laws \u201care well defended and that they\u2019re in place and operational for the upcoming election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, RITE was instrumental in <a href=\"https:\/\/riteusa.org\/rite-counters-elias-in-ohio-seeks-early-dismissal-of-photo-id-challenge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">helping<\/a> two Ohio residents and the Ohio GOP in their bid to uphold the state\u2019s recently enacted voter ID law. As The Federalist previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/09\/ohio-republicans-score-major-win-for-election-integrity-with-new-voter-id-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, HB 458 requires Ohioans to provide an unexpired \u201cOhio driver\u2019s license, state identification card,\u201d or other valid form of identification in order to cast a ballot. In January, leftist attorneys <a href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/brutalbrittany\/2023\/01\/08\/marc-elias-files-lawsuit-challenging-new-voter-id-law-in-ohio-n685616\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filed<\/a> a lawsuit against Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose over the statute, claiming it represents \u201ca sweeping attack on Ohioans\u2019 fundamental right to vote.\u201d Following RITE\u2019s involvement in the case, a federal court <a href=\"https:\/\/riteusa.org\/rite-bolsters-the-defense-of-ohios-new-election-law\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">granted<\/a> the two aforementioned Ohioans and the Ohio Republican Party <a href=\"https:\/\/prod-media-assets.protectthevote.com\/media\/document\/news\/Ohio_Order_Granting_Intervention_dys0hron.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">permission<\/a> to intervene in the lawsuit in April.<\/p>\n<p>RITE\u2019s presence has also been felt in Georgia, where earlier this year it was revealed that DeKalb County \u2014 one of the state\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.georgia-demographics.com\/counties_by_population\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most populous<\/a>\u00a0localities and a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2020-election\/results\/georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democrat stronghold<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 had <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/04\/06\/exclusive-dekalb-county-officials-skirted-georgia-law-to-acquire-funds-from-left-wing-dark-money-elections-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">skirted<\/a> Georgia law and accepted a $2 million grant from a collation of left-wing nonprofits to fund the county\u2019s future election administration. This prompted RITE to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/02\/21\/how-georgia-became-democrats-test-site-for-their-2024-private-takeover-of-election-offices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">file<\/a> a legal complaint with Georgia\u2019s state election board, in which the group argued the county\u2019s evasion of state law \u201cundermines democratic self-governance.\u201d The Georgia board has since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/zuckerberg-funded-group-violated-georgia-law-with-2m-for-elections-board-watchdog.print\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">launched<\/a>\u00a0an investigation into the matter.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-86a0ce69562258d16b0df29f97ee1728 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-86a0ce69562258d16b0df29f97ee1728\"><\/div>\n<h3>Defending Election Laws and Ensuring Compliance<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI think we are partially a defense organization, which isn\u2019t that sexy, but I think it is needed,\u201d May Mailman, RITE\u2019s vice president for legal, strategy, and communications, told The Federalist. \u201cWe\u2019re helping to try and make good legal arguments that can carry across the 50 states. There are a lot of good state AGs offices, but they have their own politics going on [and] can only make certain types of arguments. \u2026 So, we are there to help bring those arguments to state courts, make sure that they are consistent across the 50 states, and accumulate those wins.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While RITE plays a defensive role in protecting existing statutes from Democrat-backed lawsuits, one aspect of the group\u2019s 2024 strategy involves going on offense to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pa-secretary-of-state-says-election-results-face-possible-delays-in-counting-denounces-nefarious-activity\/\" title=\"PA Secretary Of State Says Election Results Face Possible Delays In Counting, Denounces \u2018Nefarious\u2019 Activity\">ensure election officials<\/a> are properly following and enforcing these laws. In March, for example, RITE filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/riteusa.org\/didnt-vote-in-the-last-arizona-election-are-you-sure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> in Arizona alleging then-Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, a Democrat, violated state law \u201cby authorizing an illegal expansion of the database of signatures used to verify ballots.\u201d According to a RITE press release, the organization is asking the court to \u201cenforce state law\u201d by making sure election officials validate mail ballots using \u201conly signatures that are part of the voter\u2019s registration record\u201d and not \u201cany \u2018loop, jot, or tiddle\u2019 in any signature that happens to be in their possession.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re just using signatures that they\u2019re not supposed to be using to validate absentee ballots that over time will just result in more and more ballots coming in that are \u2026 not sufficiently verified,\u201d Lyons claimed.<\/p>\n<h3>Limiting Legal Options for Democrat Lawyers<\/h3>\n<p>According to Lyons, the final prong of RITE\u2019s election integrity game plan involves \u201ctaking tools\u201d out of leftist attorneys\u2019 toolboxes so they don\u2019t have \u201cas many litigation options when it comes to elections.\u201d Specifically, the strategy is aimed at limiting \u201cabuse\u201d of the \u201cmateriality provision\u201d of the Civil Rights Act, which according to Lyons, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.democracydocket.com\/analysis\/this-civil-rights-provision-protects-your-vote-from-simple-mistakes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">become<\/a> Democrat lawyers\u2019 new \u201cfavorite tool to get into federal court to try and dismantle state election laws.\u201d Cases involving the provision normally deal with absentee ballot issues, such as witness certification, signature matching, and the dating of ballots, according to Lyons.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-46089b45580a3d3eb85569affe7127f8 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-46089b45580a3d3eb85569affe7127f8\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAt the end of the day, elections are a critical component to our democracy,\u201d Lyons said. \u201cIt\u2019s the instrument that normal, everyday Americans have at their disposal to try and shape the outcome of this country and it\u2019s vitally important that they believe that it\u2019s an effective tool for doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additional information on RITE\u2019s ongoing election litigation can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/riteusa.org\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a4047faf660e6f9891cf70198652f6c1 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a4047faf660e6f9891cf70198652f6c1\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2020 election was filled with chaos and confusion.
