It warms our hearts to see their enthusiasm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis highlighted a scripture that is central to his identity, quoting Jesus&#8217; words, \u201cI&#8217;m the way, the truth, and the life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat&#8217;s ultimately what our faith revolves around,\u201d DeSantis explained. \u201cWhile traditions are important, what truly matters is our relationship with God and where our hearts stand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, DeSantis also criticized former President Donald Trump for not supporting Florida&#8217;s heartbeat law.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough I appreciate the former president&#8217;s accomplishments in various areas, he opposed our bill,\u201d DeSantis revealed. \u201cHe deemed it &#8216;harsh&#8217; to protect an unborn child once a heartbeat is detected. I believe it&#8217;s a humane measure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was genuinely surprised because he resides in Florida, and I expected him to acknowledge and commend our efforts in passing the heartbeat bill, which pro-lifers have long desired,\u201d DeSantis added. \u201cBut he never mentioned it.
