Trump has thanked Trusty and Rowley for representing him in the documents case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to thank Jim Trusty and John Rowley for their work, but they were up against a very dishonest, corrupt, evil, and \u2018sick\u2019 group of people, the likes of which has not been seen before,\u201d Trump said in a June 9 <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/110514921982710631\">post<\/a> on his Truth social media account. \u201cWe will be announcing additional lawyers in the coming days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trusty and Rowley issued their own statement after parting ways with Trump on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-asks-supreme-court-to-reject-trump-request-in-fbi-classified-documents-case\/\" title=\"DOJ Asks Supreme Court to Reject Trump Request in FBI Classified Documents Case\">classified documents case<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been an honor to have spent the last year defending him, and we know he will be vindicated in his battle against the Biden Administration\u2019s partisan weaponization of the American justice system,\u201d Trusty and Rowley <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/06\/09\/trumps-attorneys-jim-trusty-john-rowley-resign-after-indictment\/\">said<\/a>. \u201cNow that the case has been filed in Miami, this is a logical moment for us to step aside and let others carry the cases through to completion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trusty and Rowley said last week that they also would stop representing Trump in legal matters pertaining to his efforts to challenge the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/katie-couric-trump-supporters-need-to-be-deprogrammed-video\/\" title=\"Katie Couric: Trump Supporters Need to Be \u201cDeprogrammed\u201d (VIDEO)\">2020 presidential election results<\/a> and the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have no plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/attorney-parts-ways-with-trump-for-2nd-time-citing-irreconcilable-differences\/\" title=\"Attorney splits from Trump again, cites 'irreconcilable differences'.\">hold media appearances<\/a> that address our withdrawals or any other confidential communications we\u2019ve had with the President or his legal team,\u201d Trusty and Rowley added.<\/p>\n<h2>Trump\u2019s CNN Lawsuit<\/h2>\n<p>Trusty said his decision to withdraw from Trump\u2019s defamation lawsuit against CNN should have no negative impact on the case as oral arguments and discovery have not yet began and there are no pending deadlines before Miami federal court handling the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Trusty\u2019s motion to withdraw also states that Trump \u201ccontinues to be served by co-counsel on the matter, Lindsey Halligan, a member of the Florida Bar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The defamation lawsuit (<a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.flsd.621239\/gov.uscourts.flsd.621239.1.0.pdf\">pdf<\/a>) alleges CNN\u2019s disparaging references to Trump went beyond mere opinion and hyperbole and instead were \u201crepeatedly reported as true fact, with pur<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald Trump&#8217;s lawyer, Jim Trusty, has withdrawn from representing the former president in a defamation lawsuit against CNN due to &#8220;irreconcilable differences.&#8221; This marks the second time in a week that Trusty has parted ways with Trump.
