Not surprisingly, the mainstream media has mostly buried this one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cNauta\u2019s lawyer, Stanley Woodward, alleged in a court filing that during a meeting with prosecutors about his client\u2019s case, the head of the Counterintelligence Section of DOJ\u2019s National Security Division Jay Bratt \u201csuggested Woodward\u2019s judicial application [for a D.C. Superior Court judgeship] might be considered more favorably if he and his client cooperated against Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/soros-gets-bad-news-ingenious-group-rises-cant-claim-antisemitism-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scharf<\/a> remarked: \u201cIf true, and I find it hard to believe that Woodward just made the whole thing up, this is wild misconduct. Truly wild. It could undermine the entire case against both Trump and Nauta. It could end careers at DOJ if fairly investigated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, Scharf suggested that the coercive inducement \u2014 which allegedly occurred in November 2022 \u2014 was tantamount to a bribe: a potential judgeship in exchange for damaging testimony against Trump.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">(3) Walt Nauta and DOJ Misconduct<\/p>\n<p>Far and away the most troubling side story to emerge from this saga so far are the allegations made by Trump aide and co-defendant Walt Nauta\u2019s lawyer last week.<\/p>\n<p>You may have missed it if you blinked. Spent a decade at Akin Gump, a top law firm, clerked on the DC Circuit, and has very substantial experience in government investigations,\u201d the former federal prosecutor tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/michael-avenatti-pleads-guilty-5-counts-fraud-faces-dozens-years-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fly by night TV lawyer<\/a>. He\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lawyer-for-trumps-co-defendant-says-biden-doj-offered-him-quid-pro-quo\/\" title=\"Trump's co-defendant's lawyer claims Biden's DOJ offered a quid pro quo.\">real deal legal heavyweight<\/a>, and he\u2019s leveling an extremely serious allegation of misconduct against a senior official at DOJ.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to The Guardian, Woodward made the bombshell allegations last week in a sealed letter to James Boasberg, the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Woodward arrived at the conference room, he was seated across from several prosecutors working on the investigation, including the chief of the counterintelligence section, Jay Bratt, who explained that they wanted Nauta to cooperate with the government against Trump, the letter said,\u201d the June 8 report said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBratt then turned to Woodward and remarked that he did not think that Woodward was a \u2018Trump guy\u2019 and that \u2018he would do the right thing\u2019, before noting that he knew Woodward had submitted an application to be a judge at the superior court in Washington DC that was currently pending, the letter said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report continued:\u00a0\u201cThe allegation, in essence, is that Bratt suggested Woodward\u2019s judicial application might be considered more favorably if he and his client cooperated against Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">DEVELOPING: DOJ must respond to a complaint filed under seal in DC court by the lawyer for indicted Trump valet Walt Nauta alleging Democrat prosecutor Jay Bratt threatened Nauta to cooperate against Trump by suggesting Nauta\u2019s application for a judgeship would be blocked<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Paul Sperry (@paulsperry_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/paulsperry_\/status\/1667377360981639176?\">June 10, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The explosive claim has received little attention in the establishment media.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/opinion\/story\/2023-06-14\/donald-trump-federal-indictment-arraignment-prosecutor-misconduct-classified-documents-litman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Los Angeles Times<\/a> mentioned it in passing in a column Wednesday by Harry Litman, a former U.S. attorney and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/facebook-oversight-board-member-joins-biden-doj\/\" title=\"Facebook Oversight Board Member Joins Biden DOJ\">deputy assistant attorney general<\/a> under President Bill Clinton and the senior legal affairs columnist for its Opinion page.<\/p>\n<p>In the piece \u2014 headlined \u201cHere\u2019s Trump\u2019s outlandish and dangerous plan to beat the classified documents case\u201d \u2014 Litman said of the former president, \u201cHis team\u2019s allegations of misconduct are exceedingly vague and scattershot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most concrete seems to involve a conversation between Justice Department lawyer Jay Bratt and Stanley Woodward, who represents Trump\u2019s valet and co-defendant in the case, Walt Nauta,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWoodward has reportedly alleged that Bratt referred to his pending application to become a judge, the implication being that he was suggesting his vigorous representation of Nauta could jeopardize his judicial candidacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a dubious charge on the facts.
