Jean Carroll&#8217;s defamation lawsuit brought against former President Donald Trump, which now includes comments he made about her during a CNN town hall last month.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Judge Lewis A. Trump was found liable for defamation and sexual abuse by a Manhattan jury in May, and Carroll was awarded $5 million.<\/p>\n<p>During a CNN presidential town hall occurring one day after the liable verdict in the civil rape trial, Trump attacked Carroll on national television, telling moderator Kaitlan Collins the case was &#8220;<strong>fake news<\/strong>&#8221; and saying it was a &#8220;<strong>made-up story<\/strong>&#8221; created by a &#8220;<strong>wack job<\/strong>,&#8221; which sparked laughter from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is facing several legal troubles as he navigates the presidential 2024 field.
