Greg Abbott Signs Save Women&#8217;s Sports Act into Law<\/h2>\n<p>Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) made a significant move on Thursday by signing the Save Women&#8217;s Sports Act into law. This legislation is part of a growing trend across the nation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/third-gop-gov-moves-to-protect-girls-sports-athletes-to-be-separated-by-biological-sex-not-gender-identity\/\" title=\"Third GOP Gov Moves To Protect Girls Sports: Athletes To Be Separated By Biological Sex, Not Gender Identity\">ensure fair competition<\/a> in women&#8217;s sports by preventing biological men from participating.<\/p>\n<p>The new law specifically prohibits transgender women, who are biologically male, from competing in women&#8217;s sporting events at colleges and universities in Texas.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Protecting Female Athletes in Texas<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Today is an important day for female athletes across the state of Texas, including little girls who aspire to one day compete in college sports,&#8221; expressed Abbott in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Save Women&#8217;s Sports Act safeguards young women at Texas colleges and universities by preventing men from competing against them, either as part of a team or as individuals, in college sports. Sports have always been a source of inspiration for women, empowering them to dream big and achieve greatness. This law ensures that the legacy of women&#8217;s sports will be protected for generations to come. Women in Texas can rest assured that the integrity of their sports will be upheld in our state,&#8221; he continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, critics argue that this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-gov-abbott-signs-bill-to-protect-the-integrity-of-womens-sports\/\" title=\"Texas Gov. Abbott signs bill safeguarding women's sports integrity.\">bill unfairly targets transgender athletes<\/a>. The ACLU of Texas has labeled the legislation as &#8220;unfair, unconstitutional, and just plain cruel.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This law builds upon a previous bill signed by Abbott earlier this year, which already prohibited biological men from participating in women&#8217;s sports from kindergarten through twelfth grade.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, this is not the only legislation Abbott has signed this year concerning transgender issues. Just a few weeks ago, he signed a bill into law that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-proclaims-june-as-lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender-queer-and-intersex-pride-month\/\" title=\"Biden Proclaims June As \u2018Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, And Intersex\u00a0Pride\u00a0Month\u2019\">bans transgender surgeries<\/a> for minors in the state.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Protecting Minors&#8217; Health and Well-being<\/h3>\n<p>The law signed earlier this month not only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-judge-blocks-bidens-interpretation-of-title-ix\/\" title=\"Texas Judge Blocks Biden\u2019s Interpretation Of Title IX\">prohibits healthcare providers<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/limited-government-isnt-everything\/\" title=\"Limited Government Isn\u2019t Everything.\">prescribing puberty blockers<\/a> or hormones to minors but also bans surgeries aimed at transitioning the gender of a minor.
