He found that the evidence collected in the investigation couldn\u2019t support criminal charges, regarded conduct outside the statute of limitations, or overlapped with investigations underway by other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/public-radio-reporter-arrested-for-firebombing-police-cars\/\" title=\"Public Radio \u201cReporter\u201d Arrested For Firebombing Police Cars\">law enforcement officials<\/a>, according to the source, whose identity is known to Insider but who was not authorized to speak on the record,\u201d according to the news outlet.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Democrat New York Attorney General Letitia James <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-reveals-moment-knew-ny-attorney-general-bring-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">brought a civil lawsuit<\/a> against the Trump Organization in September.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit alleges that Trump \u2014 his three oldest children Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump \u2014 and the Trump Organization \u201cengaged in numerous acts of fraud and misrepresentation in the preparation of Mr. Trump\u2019s annual statements of financial condition\u201d during the years 2011 through 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese acts of fraud and misrepresentation grossly inflated Mr. Trump\u2019s personal net worth as reported in the Statements by billions of dollars and conveyed false and misleading impressions to financial counterparties about how the Statements were prepared,\u201d the lawsuit further claims.<\/p>\n<p>The means for these purported acts of \u201cfraud and misrepresentation\u201d involve \u201cinflated appraisals\u201d of Trump Organization properties.<\/p>\n<p>So the suit is alleging the opposite of what the Westchester prosecutors were reportedly investigating: the Trump Organization inflated property values, not undervalued them.<\/p>\n<p>Trump responded to James\u2019 lawsuit last fall quoting from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/09\/21\/nyregion\/trump-fraud-lawsuit-ny.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Times<\/a> in a Truth Social post, \u201cThe New York Times: \u2018Her (Peekaboo James) case against him could be difficult to prove.
